What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Yup, Florida has Hawaii level rig styling. Lots of shiny visual stuff, little function. Not all that way, but more than I see over here. Whatever floats their boat I guess. Some of it looks really good some is stretched mudterrains on 11" backspacing rims on stacked 6" block lifts.

 

I've seen a few when I'm visiting my parents in Orlando haha

 

Anyone on here running camburg coilovers and a steel tube bumper with no winch/skidplates?

Someone has been asking to buy my arb and warn m8000, if I sold it I was thinking of buying a trail gear low profile tube bumper but not sure how my truck is going to ride without all the extra weight up front... I think they're 600 or maybe even 650 lb springs, but are somewhere between 5-10/years old so not as stiff as brand new

Im about to start writing engineering final exams otherwise I would just pull my bumper off and take it out for a rip myself, but the time is a factor.

Filled up and when I got home, I decided to do a visual check to see if the fuel leak is from the same spot as before. Yup, fresh gas on top of the tank by the back end of the top of the sending unit. I hope me fucking up 1 of 8 screws last time didn't screw me. It was good for 3 months, so it'd be strange if that were preventing it from sealing right now. But even if that were the case, it seems odd that enough gas would leak out of an ever so slightly not tight enough seal in the 3.7 miles from gas station to my house that it would be easily visible. Maybe there's a hole in one of the lines there? I guess I've got to take the bed off again. Now the question is do I delay it and hope I pass inspection this month, or do I try to get that done before the month is through. Hmm.

Thanks to @1eyedclyde for these!!! 10" 2.0's! Just have to trim one side of the bigger eyelet bushings to fit in the shock for the stock mounts! Probably relocate the shocks within a month. What do you guys suggest for a cross member for the relocation?. Maybe a 3/4" tube .120 thick DOM??

 

1.25 is what I was thinking for making a new shock cross member.

Seems like a pretty decent size. I'm gonna do some more research before pulling the trigger!

 

Mine is 1.75". Lots of options for available tabs from ruffstuff pre-cut for 1.75 tubing.

3/16" plate was welded to the frame. Crossmember is in line with the factory rear mount. 10" 7100 short bodies.

I just got a nice welder. So I'll be breaking the pack down soon to properly cycle, install wheeler's bumps, and possibly move shocks to the other side of the crossmember to keep them more vertical. Might also swap the shocks at the same time.

Looks like a good setup for me. So you welded the plate on the inside correct? Still pretty stable too? If you know the measurements, how far out are the lower mounts from the back of the brake drum? I looked at boxrockets setup too but I didn't like it because his mounts were pushed in towards the center a little too far.

I really need to invest in a welder...

 

Applied the Rain-X to the windshield and side mirrors. Now I've got original Rain-X, their washer fluid, and their Latitude wipers. Looking forward to the next rain storm so I can see how well their stuff can "outsmart the elements".
