Thanks for the response guys. I want one, but I know I will catch hell from everyone since I'm not even lifted and what not. Truth is I travel on a dirt road everyday for work and my engine bay is covered with dirt/dust. So I could use one, but eh idk.
On another note, how do snorkels work in the rain(or snow)? As in, explain to me the process in which how it does not allow water to get into the intake.
    Thanks!

Function over form. It's for the dirt and your in it so it's probably best yea get one.

As for the water this is how it works.

    Or

Also if you are really concerned with water still getting into the intake you could use a filter cone

I am in the same boat as you on the dusty conditions for part of the year and snow/rain during the other. I'll probably end up running a cone all the time it at least get one to run in the winter with all the snow and winds we get in the Midwest.

True, true. Like I said, I want one, but I feel like I would catch too much shit for not even having a lift on my truck. I also don't want to look like a poser.

Who cares what other people think? I know I don't and if I did I would be miserable. I know this because I used to try to manage other people's perceptions of me way back when. It was difficult and never worked out, but today I am polite and do whatever I want to do regardless of how I may be perceived. And it is truly liberating.

So my friend, if you want a snorkel but your buddies are gona bust yer chops, let them. Chances are they are just jealous !

The only way you will look like a poser is if you don't actually plumb the snorkel to the air box, or you stick to streets. Chances are you will just have to explain to people a snorkel is for dust and not crossing the ocean.

The words 'ancillary benefit' come out of my mouth more often than not when explaining my snorkel to random people.
