Procomp, revtek or billies?

got a quote today for a procomp 3 inch lift kit for 430 dollars. i was wondering if i should get that or just the adjustable billies for the front for 200, or the revtek lift for 300? just want some opinions from experience. i heard the revtek is pretty stiff, is that true?

 

My revtek gives a pretty stiff ride, I am currently looking to swap it out for a new kit so I wouldn't recommend that one. A guy I was talking to said that ready lift makes a similar but superior kit that keeps the ride feeling stock, but I have yet to look into that one.

 

i have the procomp lift and i love it. It is stiffer than stock but i like the stiffness, feels like a truck. Real easy 1 day installation too. If u posted this earlier i woulda given u an extra lift i had for 300.

a spacer is a spacer is a spacer... stop being cheap atleast be cheap and do it right... spacers are shit... get 5100s

 

spacer makes a junk ride. take it from me, I have them. It gets the job done... and if you want a 6" down the road, its cost effective for now IMO.

 

i have the procomp and love it...no complaints.

 

I was recently looking at going the expensive route and getting the full coilover suspension set and all that jazz, but the suspension guy that I was talking was highly against it.

Living in the frozen north, he claims that the seals in the suspension crap out once it hits minus 30 and then you lose your fluid in the first pothole and boom you have to have them sent in to be recharged. Anyone had any experience with this?

I am off to sample some water at -30.....I need to move south.

Spacers are more for looks...might as well have funtionality with it...get 5100...had them on my Tundra and loved it. Fixed factory rake. handled street and off road much better.

 

5100's are the way to go, hands down.

 

you can do the 5100's and aal for under $430 and have a much better ride.
wheelersoffroad usually puts 5100's on ebay buy it now or best offer. i got mine
for $275 shipped for all 4. you can get a aal from toytec for about $90 shipped,
that comes to $365 total. much better deal, for a much better ride. that is what i am putting on in january or feburary. i have everything, just waiting till my tires wear down. i am going to put 275/70/17 on my truck.

do billys with Eibach coils and an aal in the back.

 

Go for the billy's. I got them set at the highest.it's a slightly stiffer ride than my stock non-TRD shocks but feels better overall!

 

Another vote for the 5100's, but I'm not a fan of the Add A Leafs... I've installed them on more than one truck (small, mid and full size alike), and find that more often than not, they make the rear ride very rough when the bed be empty.

 

Oh, and not all spacers make the truck ride like "junk". Better said would be that a spacer that compresses the spring, (increased preload), is not going to yield a smooth, comfortable commute. AKA = junk. LOL

The post says increased preload, as caused my some spacer applications.
