1st gen's got lucky in this department. As there are several vendors who have already made a suitable aftermarket V6 trans mount for them. Us not so much. In my quest to convert the drivetrain to polyurethane, I have come to no real avail as far as vendors who make them. The question of looking for some prefabbed ones has already been asked on this forum. I am not going to wait. Instead I'll make my own suitable solution… by modifying the stocker mount!

My plan, remove the mount, cut the rubber on the sides and install some square polyurethane pads in place of them. Drill a single center hole on both the upper and the lower metal parts of the transmission mount, install a bolt which will run through the length of the metal and the bushings, install the respective washers and nuts to make the pads stay in place (all grade 8 hardware obviously). Bolt it all back up and run it! Here are some dimensions to get started.

    Dimensions
Length (or the height) of rubber:
    1.25"
    Width of rubber:
    2.25"

Closest polyurethane suitor available I could find at this moment which replicates square design of the rubber:

    Energy PN 9.9534G
Durometer: 70A (softest of 3 polyurethane options available)

    Dimensions:
Height: 0.4375" (This will require tripling up pads for each side, kit is sold in 8. Tripling up pads should also stiffen up their softness a bit)
    Width: 2.0625" (Perfect!)

However, as a substitute, seeing as the stock design is rectangular I have also identified another alternative which should be similar to and not require any trimming of the bushings to make them fit within the two piece mount better.

    Energy 9.9536G
Only problem, it's firmness durometer is the stiffest one available which is 95A
Next issue. It is .5" thick. This will require either running 2 on each side, or tripling them up, then cutting the third bushing in half to achieve the additional .25" needed to get it to stock height. Next issue, which is not so much of an issue. It's width measures out to 1.625" long. Not a huge deal.

Why are you looking to go all polyurethane? Better life expectancy vs rubber? Interested in seeing this, might take after you again like I did with the body mounts.

Are you feeling that the increased boost load is twisting the mount? Or doing this out of principle of a poly conversion?

    1) Unscrew big bolt in middle of mount
    2) Insert washers into area between upper and lower part of mount, until space is full
    3) Re-tighten big bolt
    4) .....

Better life expectancy over rubber, resistance to chemical's and oil, aft, etc.

Principle of Poly conversion, I already have poly engine mounts in but for purposes of not tearing apart my trans mount this is why I want to do it.

Frankenstein is what I do. Get over it Jeff. I already got Bonzen's motor mounts in anyways.

It's that simple? I feel like something is amiss there. There won't be any give there then will it?

Bruh, get his Trans mount then? Why frankenstein something when someone else has already build something solid? ugh, banging my head against the wall.

Also, if you're not busy in the morning, I need help lifting the bed up to get the other bedside off. Got one side off, now the bed is just flopping around but I can't lift it enough to access everything on the passenger side. Just need to prop it up for 5 minutes while I pull that side off lol, then I can spend the rest of the day putting it back on lol

Reminds of the saying at work I constantly use with the old timers, 'Just because something has been done that way forever, doesn't mean its right'.

Wait. You need help lifting it up? It's super simple bud, just get your hands in under the bed, lift like Hulk for a sec, while you get just enough height to get the stock bottlejack in between the frame and bed, drop the bed on it, proceed to turning the jack upwards until you get the bed to your desired workspace height. All done!

But really if you want to modify your trans mount just put the poly squares where the bolt goes through and call it a day... if you're going to go through the trouble of afro engineering to the extent you plan just fab new ones...

Old timers have been saying a lot of shit forever. Doesn't always necessarily mean they are right. They also got the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." What was your point again? Lol.

Ill give that a try, but I actually need to move it back towards the end of the truck to access the bolts that are between the bed and the cab. All the electronics are disconnected, and lights are sitting my workbench lol. I actually need to go buy some more zipties since I got pissed and ripped all the wiring off of the fasteners since they wouldn't come off lol.

I still want to know about the washer fill in thing. Have you done that yourself? What is the deal with that? You figure you would want some give in there which the washers wouldn't give don't you think? Or am I missing something here?

Let me know man. It's my only day off tomorrow and I kind of want to recharge the batteries, but worse comes to worse, I can probably make it out that way. It's super easy, I'm serious.

Ziptieing stock fastener retention hardware because you ripped it off from being pissed? Who is Frankensteining now? :D
