Amsoil Shipping

I feel compelled to recognize Amsoil's customer service. I ordered gear oil (Severe Gear) a few days ago on Sunday and UPS tracking says it's out for delivery today, on Wednesday. Other companies like Amazon charge extra or require an annual fee of $100 ("Prime" membership) for service like that. Amsoil didn't charge a shipping fee and they didn't condition expedited shipping on a membership.

 

They are very good about it, i am a dealer and when i pay for ground i usually get it the next day

 

I now regret not registering as a preferred customer for the 25-percent discount instead of opting for the free shipping, because they've earned my business. I'll need to do some research but I may even switch to Signature Series oil (sorry Castrol).

 

I liked Amsoil and actually use their stock replacement air filter on my Mustang 5.0 with HCI.
But, I also love Amazon Prime. My wife and I can watch all kinds of movies and TV shows and we've literally ordered 100 items from Amazon Prime and got 2 day shipping on everything. I ordered my Magnaflow Catback on Amazon Prime for a solid price and still got it shipped in 2 days.

Just to add, the membership fee is worth it to me because once I ordered a intake manifold spacer for my HCI build and needed it quick. I paid for 2 day shipping through Summit Racing and it cost the same as the part I was buying. The membership fee can be worth it if you buy a lot from Amazon.

 

Excellent point. I myself ordered the Toyota air filter from Amazon yesterday and it's arriving tomorrow -- I'm a Prime member too. I'm not necessarily bashing Amazon, but simply praising Amsoil for shipping more than ten pounds of gear oil in the same time it takes Amazon to ship an air filter, but without the $100 membership fee. I'm not naïve. I realize that business expenses like freight and shipping -- though deducted from revenue for tax purposes as a promotional / business expense -- is partially built into the price of their product and passed on to the consumer. However, I appreciate their diligence in processing the order nonetheless and they've earned another look after I use up other oil on hand. I'm not sure whether Amsoil Signature 0 or 5W-30 is any better than Castrol Edge, but I'll look into it and consider the switch simply because I like to reciprocate respect.

 

Shipped speed depends on where its coming from with normal shipping...if they are a state or 2 over its going to be faster than the warehouse being across the country...

also, if you become a "preferred customer" with Amsoil you get the reduced prices on the products but shipping is no longer free. It's either one, not both. Ask me how I know.....
which option in the end is more economical? not sure as I don't feel like doing the math

 

I only use Amsoil and Wix for all of our vehicles. My system is to only to preventative maintenance during the holidays for the house and vehicles. With Amsoil, I only need to change the oil once a year with each vehicle going 15-22k miles. And yes, amsoil has great shipping.
