Entune - option to use ringtone from phone grayed out

So this is my first vehicle with Entune and I'm still learning. My phone (Galaxy S6) paired with it fine and all the Entune stuff works great - but the option to use the ringtone from the phone is grayed out. I only have the choice of the 2 standard tones or a voice tone. Any way to enable this? Why have it listed if you can't use it?

 

I have searched all over the internet for this, and the only thing I've found so far was the same question asked recently on a 4-runner forum. Nobody had an answer there either.

 

its because the entune software doesn't allow it. the only ringtones allowed are those baked into the entune software. since the ringtone you want to use is determined by the phone itself, it cant send the ringtone to the entune software since entune doesn't allow it or recognize that BT protocol.

not much different if you use a BT ear piece. most don't allow a unique ringtone to be sent to the ear piece. most just beep/voiceover when an incoming call comes in.

 

That's fine - no big deal. It's just silly that Entune even shows an option to use the phone ringtone if that's not really the case. Why even put it in there? I would never ask the question otherwise lol.

 

I imagine it will work in a future update
