Should have bought a 4wd so crawl control could get him through there.

I think it was more about the line he picked. Almost like he was on the far right slid down hit the drivers front tire then tipped. Maybe straddling the two slopes would have been safer, dunno but I'll find out in about a week and a half.

Yeah, looking at the later pics it definitely seems likely. Only thing that might have saved him at that point is to turn to the drivers side and hope to ride it out.

on a side note, do we have a thread dealing with wheeling tips? Like what todo in what type of situation. It's not all common sense as they say.

You guys are really frigged aren't you.

Guy wheels a brand new truck and gets made fun of and even called a mall crawler.

What he did is the exact opposite of being a mall crawler.

If a guy wheels too hard he is an asshole? Yeah right, don't be jealous that the guy has more balls than you do.

If you're scared, say you're scared.

Wheeled to hard? I bet most would agree he rolled due to inexperience.

I never engaged into 4wd the last few times I was at Jawbone, Jawbone is great especially on the very back side towards Lake Elizabeth.

I've also been at Cleghorn a few times with 2wd Tacomas who got through just about every bypass with carefull driving and some spotting.

With what they did I doubt a 4x4 would have helped. You can't fix being stupid.

I got most of my wheeling experience in scalers before I ever drove anything with 4x4

Maybe he can blame it on the transmission and warranty it.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.

I'm pretty sure wheelin' well outside your ability and getting into that much trouble on an easy section like that is the definition of mall crawling. Put some tires on your rig and go, bruh. GO. BRUH. YOU HAVE A LIGHT BAR. YOU ARE PRO4X4OFFROADNOW.

    That's bullshit

Shit happens to the best of us, an inherent risk of off roading at any level of experience. I flopped pretty hard during a night run a few years back on something that some would consider easy, It happens Brah..

    It's not.

Your lesson you learned is: you aren't prepared to wheel at night safely.

You buddy have an image problem, not to mention a "bro" problem stemming from what I can only imagine is an overly large quantity of Monster energy drink intake amounts, flat billed hats and window stickers.

The dude rolled on an area that if you look earlier some purpose built rigs have rolled on, far from mall crawling "bro".

Just because they have a light bar doesn't make them a mall crawler, you do know they are used for added light off road (particularly in the desert) at night right? Where do you think this guy was at? Has it ever crossed your mind maybe he actually needs it and uses it as one should?

Not every person has an image problem and needs 4x4 to make them selves feel better and convey an image. There are people who know they won't need it or use it and prefer the look and some of the added features (locker is real handy in many situations or the boat ramp) with out shelling out an additional 3-4k on the 4wd option on top of added gas, insurance, financing, maintenance, ect. It is called being smart, grown up and not giving a damn what some forum yuppie with a "bro" problem thinks.
