DCLB not a great purchase get the DCSB in 2017. Maybe then they'll have the quality inspection problems fixed. Anything you can fit in a DCLB you can fit in a SB with bed extender or tie downs. Better turning radius and much better driving around town, parking and more off road capability when/if needed

To each their own sir... depends on how the owner plans on using it. A dcsb wouldn't work for me... I use 66" long jet sleds to haul decoys and layout blinds into fields (where we can't drive). Without the long bed, I cant load the gear (minus guns) the night before and have it locked up and secure. This truck replaced an old Ford Escape that with the back seats folded down, I could fit the jet sleds inside. I couldn't see paying $35k+ for a truck that couldn't do what a $23k+ Escape did. I know I give up the benefits you list, but I can live with that for my intended use.

    Have a good evening.

(Btw Smitty, thanks for the info on mud flaps, you made great points and saved me from the WT's)

Paying pretty close to this. $36,500, similar config minus step tubes.

I hear that. I had a sb and hauling my dirt bikes just didn't work as well as my last one that was a lb.

So can you still fit something from a DCLB + bed extender into a DCSB with bed extender? :stirthepot: No real "better" config. Both have advantages and disadvantages. All personal preferrence. I still prefer the look of the long bed. I go off road but never anything so gnarly that it would damage my truck significantly, so an extra foot of bed isn't an issue. Still a shorter wheelbase than most full size trucks.

Just use tie downs. I've seen plenty of guys with kayaks and canoes hanging out back of tailgate by several feet or more

My thing is I sleep in the back of my truck from time to time when I car camp and don't wanna pull up my trailer. I am 5'10 so a 6 foot bed is perfect.

Mountian States in Denver qouted me $1500 off msrp. Pedersen in Fort Collins matched it so I got it there since I live in Fort Collins. I ordered DCLB so it took a while.

I live in Cheyenne so Pedersen is a place I will likely shop. You should post some pics!

If you can get out the door with all taxes fees, etc included for MSRP or less you're doing OK. I paid $500 over invoice and I ended up paying (in total) just under MSRP out the door.

Californians pay nearly 10% tax no matter where we buy.

    Not fair!

Believe me I know I lived there for almost 10 years. I paid 10% state income tax for far too long. On top of that almost 30% federal income tax too.

Some see it that way. If you are into open spaces and exploring than there is a LOT of a lot of things. Perfect place if you drive a Tacoma.
