My father traded in his 2011 rock warrior for a 2016 Tacoma off road the other day. I got to take it and check it. I wasnt a fan of the new body style when it was first released but it has grown on me. It definitely felt like it was slower of the line... But the new dash and interior is what has me wanting one. I'd be dumb to trade in my 2012 with only 23k on it though....

 

Have any of you guys bought expensive stuff private party from a distance, say from another forum member? If so, how did you go about protecting yourself from fraud? I've been looking into escrow accounts as a means to protect myself and that seems to be the best option I can find. Any other ideas or suggestions?

 

No I haven't but I'm curious what are you buying?

 

Morning all.

Got a funeral to go to today, so I've got my suit. Been a few years since I've worn it; apparently my shoulders/chest have changed dimensions because the vest and suitjacket are tighter than I remember them being. I'll have to have them altered (again)


Some of you may actually have seen the kid whose funeral we're going to; he was all over the news a few years ago.

I have a friend at Harr in Worcester who got me a set of take-offs with sensors and tires for CHEAP. If you want I can ping him and see if he's got another set lying around.

Thanks but I should be able to find them. I was just wondering about something almost new, like when someone gets a new truck and what's to change the wheels right away. We call them "take offs".

Yes, I have, camera equipment. very expensive. An escrow account works but is not cheap. If you want a less expensive option there is one that is neglected far too often. US Postal money orders. The deal is this, when you use the US Post office for the money and the shipping, if you don't get what you contracted for, a dispute is considered mail fraud which is a felony. It's a big deal and the Post Office takes it very seriously. They have Federal agents that are far more powerful than the State Police and are specifically committed to mail fraud. Go to a Post Office and ask them how it works. You can also purchase insurance for your money order, in which case if you don't receive what was contracted then you get full coverage. It's amazing more people don't take advantage of this, it basically takes the risk out the deal to all parties.
