I don't know if it's just me, but maddie/madison doesn't act very well. When she is on camera, she seems so fake and her facial expressions are like someone that has never acted before. When she is on camera, I lose the realness of the scene, so I try not looking at her and it makes the scene more real/enjoyable. The only one close to her horrible acting is Chris, but he is still much better than Madison in my opinion. To me when they do a close up of Madison, all that comes to mind is a deer in the headlights expression.

Chris is my least favorite but I can see what you are saying about Maddie. She doesn't fit the show/role very well. She was really good in Treme (on HBO...she has a nice rack too if you were interested ) and she was OK on House of Cards. I think someone posted she was also in Sons of Anarchy but I haven't seen that show so I can't comment on her acting chops in that one. Chris needs to become zombie chow soon... Was hoping one of those mermaid walkers would get him

I don't know why (maybe to make them more interesting to watch), but with this show and TWD, they type cast teenagers in roles as these independent/spoiled/arrogant/obnoxious "teens". I think they go over board how they are cast and it takes away from both the shows.

I like Nick. The rest of the kids are annoying. In TWD, Carl is super annoying. It's tough for the show because people age so quickly so he has become more and more annoying. In the book he is younger than 12 basically the whole time so he never gets to be an annoying teen. He is like 18 in the show trying to carry a storyline that would be better fit for a 12 year old. Judith has been played by like 5 different babies, if only they could get a way with that with the older kids and viewers wouldn't mind.

    Just Dr. Who this bitch...

Nick is a good actor and makes the show enjoyable to watch, as does strand. I feel the show is getting better as the seasons progress and it's cool how TWD dovetails with FTWD.

To be honest aside from the acting, another thing that's frustrating is how stupid they can be on the show..example: how Alicia seems "fall in love" over the CB radio and probably gave their location away to the "pirates" Or how Madison or any other character got mad because they wouldn't stop to save those ppl stranded on that boat as if the dangers of that weren't clear enough. I know it's a show, but can't help but get frustrated lol just my 2 cents on the show!

I agree that kids are that way, but they seem to over do it, but maybe it's just me not wanting to see it so often in a show or not being around teens enough.

Yeah, the guy that plays Nick's character is very good as well as the guy that plays Strand!!! Daniel, he isn't bad at all either. I agree with everything that you have said! The guy that plays Chris is annoying and fairly bad at acting, but not even close to a bad actor as the lady that plays Maddy!!! She seems very "forced"???!!! But yeah, very much agree with you! LOL... I have season 1 DVD set and I was watching them last night to get my "fix"... LOL!!!

I think they are trying to show them as naive to the situation. We are used to TWD where it basically started far into the Apocalypse (I forget how long Rick was in a coma) and we didn't get to see the characters evolve into the paranoid group they are now. Even then, some of them have made stupid decisions (like the bar scene back in season 2 where Herschel and Rick got into a gun fight after sharing a drink with a couple strangers). The Fear group will learn they can't trust anyone. Strand already knows this and the others are learning...

I just wanted to "re-state" what I had posted earlier, the guy that plays Nick's character makes a VERY believable crackhead!!! The way he is soooo sketchy, nervous... just everything he does... VERY GOOD acting!!! Can't say enough good things about that guy's acting!!! Strand and Daniel, again, are NOT that bad as well... very believable acting that they both do!!! The girl that plays Alycia (sp) is also not too bad, but MAN is she a DAMN annoying character and a total airhead, but she is a pretty good look'n broad!!!

That is a good point and it helps to remember the short period time this has all happened. Even Rick was against many things Shane wanted to do, which would be unthinkable now. The very little experience these people have, is such a stark contrast to TWD, that at time it seems illogical, when it's their basic humanity kicking in before their own survival instincts.

Strand seems street smart and a few moves ahead of everyone else and most important to him, he is looking out for #1, so kind of like Shane was.

I think todays teens would be more upset that their phones don't work than a zombie apocalypse.

thank you! I thought so too. After watching Maggie, Carol with their explosive acting from TWD, I think Madison just don't have it, just can't carry a scene.
now this Nick character is fantastic, this actor will go along way I think/

    Reminds me of Johnny Depp.

Your comment just gave me a very deep belly laugh..........I needed that, as well as agreeing with you. The way you described Madison, went right to my mind's eye and summed everything I was trying to describe.

Reading comments from articles of FTWD, and I just find it really strange that "die hard" TWD fans are trashing FTWD. Like the shows are in competition with each other or something, when that is not the case at all. It's like if you admit you like FTWD, you are somehow hurting TWD? I just don't get the "picking a side" mentality with these shows.

I'm hoping the two groups eventually meet up and there is an epic battle between them.
