Anyone recall if the playoffs are on NHL.tv or do they carry the same restrictions as regular season nationally televised games?

 

They aren't available live. I think the next day full replays are available though.

Although it does say internationally the live games are available so you might be able to do a little work around to get the live games

Yeah I'm gonna have to figure something out. Cuz more than likely the YouTube streams will have so many people that they'll turn to shit quality. Or get reported

 

I didn't know I could bypass the blackouts while connecting to VPNs outside of North America. I ran into the fix by chance while watching the ANA/WSH game and noticed that on my shitty illegal feed they weren't showing commercials but instead it was showing the NHL.tv "The game will be back shortly." So I knew it was on NHL.tv somewhere so I ran down all my VPN's in Europe and finally got lucky while connecting to Hong Kong.

 

Guess I'll have to do a little research after class

 

How does one do this?

 

Buy NHL.tv subscription.
Buy VPN.
Want to watch the Sharks/LA game? Set VPN to anywhere that isn't NorCal or SoCal.

Issue explained above is NHL blocks any games on national television. So I get around that by connecting my VPN to somewhere that isn't national like Hong Kong. That allows me to watch the nationally televised games via NHL.tv.

My VPN randomly connects to the best connection outside of my area but I am allowed to pick anywhere in the world if I want.

I seriously hate NHL.tv. It is so bad, but I have no other options for hockey here in Louisiana. What the hell are they doing with our money? I've had the service for 4 or 5 years now and it gets worse every year. Not to mention they did this coversion from NHL Gamecenter Live to NHL.tv right in the middle of this damn season. My hope that the NHL will one day be on the same level as other professional sports is all but gone.

 

Nhl.tv has been okay after like the first few days it switched. It also completely fixed the issues I was having trying to use chromecast to broadcast the stream on the big tv. It would randomly drop or think there was a commercial happening when it was Game Center. Hasn't done it once since the switch to nhl.tv

 

I never had issues with GameCenter + Chromecast.

NHL.tv has higher security. I used to be able to get blackout games on my phone and would stream them to my ChromeCast. I've noticed that even if I start a stream on ChromeCast and I leave my house (to run an errand or something) the stream continues....I can't explain that.

 

Ours would routinely drop the game or go to commercial and not come back, etc. Couldn't tell you why though.

 

I might have to look into Chromecast. I have an Apple TV and a PS4 that I use to watch. Not sure if Chromecast will work with my apple products.

 

I plan on picking up a couple more ChromeCasts to put in every TV. I sometimes watch the games in the garage, upstairs, downstairs. Cheap and extremely easy to use.
