Made it through the second half of the sluice box at hungry valley! IMG_3265.jpg IMG_3278.jpg IMG_3268.jpg

Only got one small reminder that my truck has no business being in there... Looks like the slider flexed into
the rocker panel... @CBI Offroad Fab Can't say enough good things about these sliders, this was the first time
I've seen them flex like that!

Next project is going to be my OBA setup. My plan is to gut my portable twin compressor (CKMTP12) and mount the compressor behind the driver side rear seat, with the 1 gallon air tank behind the passenger side rear seat. After reading through @Nate87 's OBA setup, I'd like the manifold to be mounted after the tank, so that I can run the lockers from the tank, and use the compressor to keep the tank topped off. I haven't found any write-ups on this, so I'll do my best... Will hopefully have this done by the end of April, ready for MOAB!

Decided to give the front a shot, and it was actually easier than I anticipated. Thanks @SixthSnail for helping me out, it's definitely a two-person job. The most difficult part of the clamshell removal/reinstallation was reattaching the breathers and brackets on top of the clamshell once it was in, IMO. Pics:

I didn't get a lot of photos while grunting and cursing under the truck, but here's a couple:IMG_3286.jpg IMG_3287.jpg

Next is wiring, plumbing, and OBA.

Made some progress on my OBA setup today. I took apart my portable compressor kit and mounted the compressor behind the driver side back seat, with the tank and manifold behind the passenger side rear seat. I didn't want to remove the plastic bin at this point, so I cut a small piece of plywood to fit in the bin, mounted the compressor to the wood, then mounted the wood piece to the plastic. This should help a lot with vibration, and reduce road noise. Hopefully getting it all plumbed and wired this afternoon!

Made some more progress on my OBA today, got everything mounted, now just need to plumb the lockers and wire it up! I ran a stainless steel hose from the compressor, through the wall of the plastic compartment into the other side, to the tank. The manifold is plumbed directly from the tank. I need to re-wire the harness a bit, because the portable compressor's wiring is a bit different (pressure switch and relay are inside the compressor housing). Should get the wiring done tomorrow, and plumbing done by this weekend, looking forward to testing out these lockers!

It gets pretty hot if I run it for more than 10 minutes, but the clearance between the compressor and seat back plastic is about 3 inches when closed, so it should be fine.

It'll only ever run that long if I'm airing up a buddy's tires too... With the way I plumbed it, the locker only kicks on to charge the tank to 135-150 psi. The tank runs the lockers, and should be able to engage them a handful of times without recharging. I chose behind the seat for peace of mind regarding theft and weather

Oh yeah. I forgot about the tank. I think my plan is to do the same. Try to get the compressor under the hood somewhere

Under the hood would be less noisy for sure!
