Tired today, went and got my taxes done yesterday.

I sent my checks to the gov'ment last week and they deposited those suckers so damn fast! Geeezus...

 

Yeah I wait because I have to pay. Sucks living in one state and working in another. I even have to pay in of Federal. I still don't understand how that works???

 

To all of you NE'ers that have nerf bars that arent stainless steel, how long did they last before you had to treat them? same question for sliders. I have 4 inch tube steps now, but down the road i want sliders or nerf bars...but if i have to treat them every 6 months im not sure i want to do that.

If you use your sliders like sliders are meant to be used you will have to touch them up whenever they hit the rocks. That's why line-x or PC doesn't make any sense on them. If you're just using them as steps then I say inspect them every spring

 

No one really understand how taxes work - I took 4 semesters of various tax courses in college and nothing ever made sense

I would like to use them as sliders as much as i get the chance to, and i would rather touch them up from wheeling rather than salty ass roads, you know? I was also thinking about just having them on in the late spring/summer/fall, and uninstalling them in the winter

If there is any chance you'll actually use them as sliders, don't waste your time with nerf bars. Assuming you spend some time to properly prep your sliders and the paint doesn't get scraped off from rocks, a paint job can last a few years but should be inspected every spring as Rob said. Powder coated steel nerf bars won't last long, it's thin metal so the mounts and brackets lose their integrity quickly if not protected very well from the salt. Nerf bars also have steps and sometimes plastic end caps where salt can work its way into the inside and rust from the inside out.

Hell I'd be happy with Joe Blows steel wheels as long as they have the right specs

 

good point. I do intend to do some wheeling in the future that would require sliders, so i guess they are the way to go over the nerf bars.

 

This. When I was working at a parts store 90% of the warranties we sent back for Nerf Bars were because of salt that had worked its way past the plastic end caps and eaten through from the inside out.

 

I run my sliders all year and haven't touched them up in 2 years (they need it bad). Lol
