I apologize if this is a silly question, I'm new to understanding wheels/tires.

Does the brand of wheels matter much as far as driving comfort our durability?

I'm in need of some new tires here pretty soon and figured I might as well get new wheels while I'm at it.

I'm not trying to dump a ton of money into wheels as I'm in the Army and don't think my wife would appreciate it too much on our limited income.

Thank you TW for your responses.

Edit: Also how does the tmps sensors play along with new wheels ?

I've owned expensive and cheap wheels for cars and trucks. IMO experience I've never failed either one.

Right now I'm running some discount tire cheap 100 dollar a piece on sale rims that for 50k miles have worked perfect.

Look into SCS wheels there really good quality and priced right, also they are hubcentric for toyotas.

Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
Just about all the wheels you see are made in the same few factories, kinda like car batteries. Few boutique brands, sure, but most are the same couple of places.

Aside from weight, ride quality won't be affected by wheels. How your wheels are paired with your tires, maybe. Find some you like that aren't a horrible brand with a bad reputation and you'll be fine.
