Pulling CVs is indeed an easy task, until it's not. I don't think I have EVER had one just slide right out, and the new one slide right back in. Something always wants to fight. Usually it's the c-clip on the way back in.

Add to that equation being in the pouring rain, a hi-lift trying to hold the truck up in the mud, and a group of ten dudes watching you... lol

That method looks pretty slick indeed. Hopefully tapping on the spindle side gets the axle back in. I've had that work exactly 0 times, lol.
    That's signal, right?

As for the winch- nah, you'll fit right in =p

Yeah I'm in the process of switching to MI but my current unit has basically pushed me off to the side. Hopefully I can get things rolling once I get there

I work best under pressure :D haha I get what your saying but I just thinking know how to do it and having the right tools makes it easy. You don't actually have to pull in the input shaft out of the diff to replace.

Well unfortunately it's always the inners that grenade. Much weaker than the shaft.
    I do I do!
I can change out CVs insanely quickly now...
By fighting it back in it usually goes
    "Tap tap"
    Not going in
    Adjust clip
    "Tap tap"
    Adjust clip
"Tap.. Ah there we go. Tap tap tap"
    In. Takes like 30 seconds.

I just swapped mine recently but had a shop do it since I had to get my lower bushings replaced and they were already there. Since I've never replaced bushings and heard how hard it was to press them out I didn't wanna mess with it

How much did it cost you for bushings? I just ordered new OEM LCAs instead of swapping bushings / ballpoints. Also got wrecking yard cvs, ECG diff bushing and wheel bearings should be riding nice after this! My lca bushings sound like death every time i hit a bump.

I already had moog bushings as well as the axles so it was just labor
Since I did both axles and both bushings it was around $550. Take in account the Last Frontier isn't as fair as the lower 48. But I'd rather have it done professionally seeing as I'm driving from AK to WA through Canada.

Swapping LCAs is much easier than bushings.. or so I hear

After patiently waiting for a month, was able to pick this up from Mule today! Now hopefully have time to install this weekend. image.jpg

Contemplating on selling the AAL and just buying Dakars. Anyone have a need for this aal set or have a set of Dakars laying around?!?

    Oooh pretty pretty.

I'd say do it, 2 years after installing my AAL I am wishing I had done just that... but then again it gives me something else to play with down the line when I actually get them.

Nice! When were you there? I was there at about 1:30, used their spring compressor to crank my coils up. Install is pretty easy, let me know if you want any help! Available Saturday but not Sunday.

Also sell the AAL just get Dakars. The ride quality is the same IMO and the AAL is just a bandaid on bad springs, might as well get money for it while its new.

I was there about 2:30 lol. I'm heading down to Portland after work tomorrow and will be back Saturday around noon probably. I need a flat space cause my damn driveway is slanted and my truck barely squeaks into the garage as is. I really want to install this stuff this weekend but I also should just wait so I can buy the Dakars and just do it right the first time. How much is a reasonable price to ask for the aal set?

It is just whatever comes with the stage 4 kit from icon. Think it's the 3 leaf aal kit.
