Flashlight Help

I need some help picking the right flashlight for survival type stuff. I'm going to keep this in my truck this winter so if I go off the road in the middle of no where, I will have some light. This flashlight needs to be reliable, and sturdy, with good battery life, and something that won't break the budget. Any ideas?

zombies are common around here, gotta stay armed at all times, if I can't beat them, I'll sure as hell be able to blind them

 

I LOVE my streamlight stinger. I've had that thing for 6 years and it's gone through some beatings. I also installed a charger mount in my truck just in case.

Yeah, it was a little spendy for a flashlight. I think I got it for $70 off e-bay w/charger. But if I didn't have that then MagLight would def be my 2nd pick.

Get an Inova xo3 or the xo find them at target for 40 bucks, bright as hell for a 2 AA or 2 Cr123.

Or just put out some monet for a streamlight Stinger either in led or halogen, get the charger with the piggyback. I have that in my truck when I go camping or offroading.

 

get L.E.D so the batteries last you longer since it's for survival. Just my opinion.

Anything from Surefire. Not sure what the budget is, but IMHO there is no substitute for a quality lighting tool. Surefire lights can be had for less than a $100. I have a SF M3 Combat Light, it has a 225 lumen bulb and uses 3 CR123 batteries. It was over $240 and almost cost me my marriage, but after about a month-I had to buy my wife one too. She loves it.

I have maglites too, but they are bulky and heavy-it is nice to have lights that are, well, light(weight). I keep a maglite as a backup in the pocket on my back door. The M3 is attached to the pillar underneath the seatbelt attachement. I attached a 1" "Quickfist" to the pillar and it makes for easy access when I need the light and the quickfist is very secure. Outside of Surefire, Pelican and Streamlight make high quality lights and are good choices for lightweight, durable devices.

They have it all from $40 up. Best on the market. I have a few M6 500 lumens, the led U2, and the 6P. All excellent.

 

Check out Fenix...one of the best on the market. 2009 flashlight of the year...I want to get one but can't decide on which one.
