after the storm that rolled through Dallas with the tornado hitting Rockwall, I did some rearranging in the garage.

it's tight, but it's doable (there's a freezer an inch from the front fender of the 4Runner. Spring in Texas is a bit unpredictable.

A couple years ago I got off work and went for a ride in Plano, sky looking fine...nice sunset, actually. 30mins later, I was hauling ass trying to get to a gas station as tornado sirens were going off.

    Nothing yet....im a poor bastard.
the hail storm that came through.....literally, came through the shingles, wood, and sheetrock all the way to the floor. No car was safe in a garage this time.

I was stressing out because my new Tacoma is waiting at the dealership in Boerne for me to pick it up Friday. Looks like it missed that area....I hope. Luckily it passed just north of my house but it pounded our building at work. There are spots about 1-2" in diameter all over the parking lot where hail hit and it put holes in our roof that we just had fixed 2 years ago. A co-worker from Converse got pounded. He has a hail ball the size of a softball in his freezer. His Nissan pickup got pounded hard with dents all over the hood and roof and windshield smashed. It's kharma for him as he always parks his truck to take up 2 spots so no one parks next to him and dings his truck! Mother Nature said "can't hide from me sucka"

Good deal, enjoy the truck. Lots of dealers in San Antonio got clobbered and soon will have their HAIL SALE! I mean they got clobbered!

Read my husband this post. His silver lining: "the divets and dings give better aerodynamics like a golf ball which improves fuel economy."

Yeah right! He moves my tools and clears me a parking space in the garage (garages aren't for parking, they're for woodworking) at every chance of hail! We live in north Texas and those ice balls are my worst nightmare!

Ha! When life throws you lemons (including frozen ones from the sky) make lemonade... Jell-O shots! Yep, 1/2 the garage is set by lawn equipment. The other 1/2 is set for my woodworking tools. Gotta love it when your birthday is so close to Father's Day that your husband finds a good deal on tools for you. He's gotten me a table saw, sick miter saw and the full set of Ryobi 18v. My shop is for parking tools and woodpiles. Not for cars!

My trusty old cedar tree I park under has saved my trucks from several storms around the Waco area. Even if it does leave me some sap drops from time to time the trade off has been worth it.

    Here,

HEB grocery store, Wal-Mart, even all the vehicles safety windshileds and winows, the 4-5 inch Ice bullets pierced them like warm butter! DESTROYED THEM, so say, "NO TO PAPER covered carports!

    There is always that....

The tree is 75+ years old so it has weathered a few storms in its day. So I have some skeptical faith in it. If that makes any sense. Other than that that is what insurance is for.

Old trees can be sketchy in storms. True about the insurance though
