I don't even have a good place to weld and I'm out doing it every other day. This one was on my third floor balcony.received_10208833622340681.jpg

I've got all sorts of pics of us grinding and welding in weird places. We were making an intercooler bracket for my buddy's Nissan 300ZX. Came out great, one of my future mods will be an on board stick welder for sure.

    Hahah:rofl:

Well I'm welding every m-f at a welding school. So I'll get there by Friday. Just having issues with the overhead lap joint.

You'll get it. What are you working with? MIG, ARC, Oxy/Acet. Overhead oxy is hard and overhead stick takes some getting used to.

Well, I want to weld it out with MIG. I have a MP machine that does stick and MIG. Im certified in overhead stick welding so i have a lot of practice in that and I might just do that for the overhead potion of it with a 3/32 7018 rod. Im going to practice with that tomorrow to see how it looks.

This one freaked me out because the mask stayed dim after I stopped welding because I was burning to a crisp

Edit: This was after I burned through a short sleeved shirt, and decided I should put on something with long sleeves.

I love welding out of position, I need to go back and practice but I can't right now because we have an accused child predator in the class and I won't put myself in the booth and limit my vision by welding when he may have something against me because a family member was the officer who took him to jail.

I was welding for @BeaverTaco and burned my ankle right where your shoe rubs every time you take a step. That one is just about fully healed now

I have some servely screwed up clothes from welding so now I mostly weld in short sleeves and shorts with the occasional leather jacket. I rarely get a burn from it, I won't oxy weld without full gear though.

Oxygen and acetylene mixed together. Usually used to cut stuff but also used to weld stuff together. Basically like the poor mans tig welding. I did it for a bit but it wasn't all that fun

Makes really strong welds if your good and requires minimal equipment. Many exhaust shops and people working on quick jobs in the field use it. Plus if you have skillz you can weld aluminum and stainless with it too. I actually like it but it takes a lot of practice to become even decent. I can do mild steel just fine, and stainless okay, but aluminum escapes me. I am basically crap at it but I plan to keep at it until I can afford to TIG regularly.

We never got to oxy weld, but tig is a lot of fun, I just wear long sleeves when I tig, and when I'm cutting I don't wear anything but goggles or a face shield (shade 3-5) everything else gets full leather jacket, gloves, cap, and shield.

Yeah, I stopped at mild steel. I wasn't bad but I wasn't great at it either..
