Just had mine done yesterday at 15K miles- what a huge difference! Now if Toyota had just admitted there was a problem, maybe they wouldn't have had to try to fix the problem by throwing a new transmission into my truck at 12K miles, which did nothing. Ironic how a current magazine cover (forget which one) features the downfall of Toyota quality- and to think I traded "up" from a Subaru to get a Toyota.

Toyota's quality hasn't dropped, their volume has risen.

You hear about more *people* with difficulty from Toyotas, but the stats seem to indicate that their vehicles having difficulty are about the same percentage they've always been.

I had mine re-calibrated this week at Massie Toyota in White Oak PA.
Dealer was extremely accommodating... great experience.
As far as the shifting now, 110% improvement in slow speed shifting.
I cannot believe how much better the truck feels now.
    A must do for all 2009-2010 trucks!

Do 09/10s have different trans than 05-08s? I remember test drove an 07 SR5 and it was like driving a car. My 10 TRD Sport with tow package drives more like a truck with heavy feel when taking off on 1st gear (I am not talking about the shifting issue from 1st to 2nd which was fixed on mine). Does tow package have differenct gear ratio?

    Thanks

Called the Toyota 1800# on Tues. to get the Harsh Ride TSB done on my 2010 as well as the smoothness transmission TSB. They gave me a case # and told me someone from the dealership would be contacting me. Wed. the customer relations manager from the dealership called and wanted to set up an appointment to test out the problems. I told her I know what the problem is. I just need to get this TSB done. and explained about the trasmission when going through a parkinglot below 20 mph and it was a harsh ride and was bottoming out on me with only @ 350 lbs in the bed. I ask if it was possible for them to order the parts before I came in so I don't make multiple trips out there. She said she would check and call me back. Today the service manager called me. He is an idiot!! I explained the problems to him. He tried to tell me the TSB is only for up to 08's. He tried to say that they fixed the problem with 09 and 10. I said no they didn't. It's tha same transmission and they are the same leafsprings with the same part #. He said I'd have to bring it in to have it checked. I already know they are going to just jerk me around!! Any sugestions??

Just now finding out about this TSB. I have a 2010 DC w/auto tranny and only about 300 miles on it so far. What are the symptoms / problems I should be looking for?

My symptoms were a harsh/jerky shifting. To me the symptoms were most noticeable in the 1/2 gears and for me it was going from 1 to 2 as much as it was 2 to 1. But honestly now that I have been driving about three weeks since the TSB, I think it has smoothed out the whole range. I am pretty sure I am running a couple of hundred rpms less now also.

It made the truck even more of a pleasure to drive.

My 2010 seems to not know what gear to be in around town. Shifts are real long and almost seem to be slipping into gear instead of boom in gear like I prefer. Will the TSB solve this. Also when I let off the gas pedal seems like the brakes are on when it should be coasting freely. Shifts kinda weird like it's slipping into gear. Truck has 2600 miles on it. I took off hard yesterday from a stop and when it should have been going hard into 3rd gear it's like it took a double take on me and though about going into 2nd:eek: I did try to anticipate the up shift and had let up on the gas pedal a little so maybe that was me making it confused. I am starting to get pissed off with this transmission in this truck. The TSB I have read on here states it is for 2009 model trucks, mine is a 2010. I have not been back to the dealership with it. I may go by there today before they close. What an inconvenience, $28k dollar truck that needs to go back under 3k miles on it.

I have had my 09 Taco for about just over a year and this has been a issue for me since I have had the truck. When I complained to the service department, they said it was the truck getting use to my driving. What a bunch of BS. Anyways took the TSB in today, they were not going to do it because it said USA market. Again had to tell them it was also for the canadian market. I stood there until he looked it up. He was actually surprised to see it. So I'm booked in for the 29th. On more issue left with my truck now, how to stop the lunging

Had mine reprogrammed on Wednesday (three days ago). The service writer looked longingly and curiously at the TSB I printed out and handed him, and was typing a novel into the computer. The result: a smooth shifting transmission representative of the finest Detroit-made automobiles...

Alright, so I just removed my 4-lo trac mod and switch in preperation for my appoitment tomorrow and now my transmission feels like it's back to where it was after having the TSB done. Could this be because of the mod? Or maybe because I unplugged the ECU port to undo the mod? I didn't drive it too much, but the hard shift into second is gone again. Wierd.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that I disconected the battery and that ECM plug? I really dont know to be honest. I'll have a chance to feel it out more in the morning traffic before the appoitment.

^ I really got into the truck a few days ago. Took off at full blast at 5 lights leaving everyone in the dust and the computer readjusted and did not have the lag for a while. the reason the computer is not remembering in my truck could have something to do with the tranny being 1 quart low which is affecting the pressure in the tranny housing, not sure.
