If you can do the work yourself to upgrade an Offroad trim Tacoma to something like the Pro, have at it.
I don't have the tools, time or know-how to do it currently.
That means taking it to a garage and I've always hated the idea of having those greasemonkeys down at the local "offroad shop" crawling around inside my brand-new truck and joy riding it around the block.
I'm not even thrilled to take my vehicles to get the tint done. Last tint shop put a little scratch on the leather in my '15 STi. But what are they gonna do, replace the whole seat for you? Yeah right.
At my age I just don't feel like dealing with too much "aftermarket" anymore. OEM Toyota has been pretty good to me in the 10 years I've owned my 2002 Tacoma so that's why I like to keep things stock.

Yep, same here. It's done and all under warranty. Other than tint you're
    good to go!

Different strokes for different folks. I do realize that not everyone has the knowledge or ability to do the work themselves, but that's what's great about this forum, always members willing to help out. The pro certainly has some nice features, but, at what price? Time will tell.

Do you need to know, or care?
This, and now I'm getting on in years, don't have the same drive to start taking things apart and replacing them. When younger, never gave a second thought to doing things myself, but now in my late 50's, would rather just drive it off the lot with what I need. Still like off-roading, but if I can get what I need/want off the lot by paying a few extra $s, I'm ok with that. Don't want to pay outrageous prices for something I can get aftermarket for cheaper price, but a little extra for the lack of inconvenience is ok by me.

As you said it's installed and ready to go, no hassle. Also keep in mind that if a dealer installs Toyota factory parts they are also covered for the 3/36 warranty.

I'm really not a fan of this HUGE badging trend right now. Have you seen the huge RAM lettering on the back of those new trucks? :jerkoff: Toyota is just as guilty on the 3rd gens. They're really going overboard trying to brand, gotta make sure the average middle class idiot knows what kinda truck it is so they know what to buy if they think it's flashy enough to impress the neighbors.

Does anyone know if this color "cement" will only be available on the pro? That color is sweet!

Having owned two Raptors ('11 and '14), $45k is nowhere near Raptor territory as compared to a TRD PRO. $45k is not bad for what you are getting in the TRD PRO. My '14 Raptor was $62k and change. $70k seems a little high on the estimate for the '17, but who knows

P.S. They were amazing trucks, but they never saw enough dirt to justify having them. I got rid of the '14 for a '16 Canyon, and I hate it. I'm currently waiting on a Quicksand TRD OR. I can justify a $39k occasional off-roader more than the $60k one. I'm not waiting for the TRD PRO because I don't need it. If I need to upgrade the suspension, I'll do it on my own and without the fancy badges.

The '17 Raptor I checked out at the auto show last week was just under $75k if I remember correctly. FWIW, they had a loaded F150 king ranch there too that was just shy of $60k

Yikes! That's spendy! The Raptor R was only $99k a couple of years ago, and that thing was a full-on trophy truck.

75 thousand dollar piece of shit. I saw a guy two months ago pull off to the side of the highway with a raptor with the hood open and smoke coming out. How is that raptor working for you.
