but this one is a little different from all the other threads.

When I was looking for a used rear leaf they told me it had to be 95-97 standard cab, and left and right sides were different...

I found a set of used springs... but they are off an extended cab. Does anyone know if they will work on my standard cab?

I got pics posted in my re-build thread. there is a link in my sig, "black Beater"

I found a set online $215 shipped for a pair, 4 leaf pack.

I am looking to save some. The used ones I found were used for a lil over a year, and they are a lift spring. If they are not sagging, cracked or twisted up, I think they are worth $90obo. I hate to spend the extra on new ones.

    ah C,,

    the lift is what's up.
well when looking/shopping for leaves i don't see them ask for extedend cab or regular cab. so I would think they are the same. but, I might not know what the heck I'm talking about. hopefully you will get solid answer on your question so you can purchase in confidence.

I'm new to a lot of this and that is why I was curious about buying used leaves. my leaves and coils have 175, 000 miles on em. So i'm thinking they will need replacing. if i knew they were ok. I would just buy new shocks. But I think i'm getting the lift bug the more I read over this site.

95.5-97 springs are interchangeable within the same years, while 98-04 springs are interchangeable within the same years, BUT they are NOT interchangeable between the 2 sub-generations. For example, springs from an 01 will not be swappable with springs from a 96 because springs from the 95.5-97 will be shorter than those from the 98-04. Reg. cabs, extended cabs all used the same leaf packs IIRC.

If I had the lean with the 3 leaf pack it was not noticable. Just had the spring TSB done and It isn't noticable but after reading this I'm going to measure it out and see if it's even. Had no problems at the dealer getting the TSB.

You had 51" as well??? WHat year is yours? Xtracab or regular?

It appears to me that the front spring mounts have been rewelded to the frame of my truck, so I am thinking somewhere along the line the springs have been swapped to the newer (98+) style.
