That's completely normal, just so you know. They're made that way on purpose. There's a YT video on it somewhere.

They're not wore out, they're broke in now. This is normal. It's like you guys have never owned tacomas before, they all did that.

I noticed that my suspension is squeeking really bad I thought it was coming from the front but your saying that it could be the leaf springs on the rear? I'm having the dealership check it out on Friday.

You're, I have never owned a Tacoma before. I've never even owned a truck for that matter. 1st truck guy and all.
So that is normal for them to get completely flat like that?

Mine has always been the rear drivers side, front bracket more so than the rear.

This is my 4th Tacoma, all 3 gens, and every one of them did that. I've always used AAL when I lift, and then shackled them as the springs settled. Unfortunately, the 3rd gen has inverted shackle, so you can't regain height with a shackle unless you do a shackle flip in the rear. These trucks were more about ride and not so much about payload like the pre Tacoma Toyotas were. They just aren't as robust, but they ride better. That's what Americans want, so that is what they build. Comfort sells, not always function. I too haul extremely heavy loads with my Toyotas at times, but not often. Personally I prefer a flatter leaf spring because they articulate better when I do go offroad. The stiffer the pack, the less flex you get. I think that with the right combination of AAL and shackle setup, you can have the best of both worlds. Sometimes there's a little trial and error, but the goal can be achieved. :headbang:

I just see a lot of misconceptions on things in here and feel the need to be objectionable on occasion. I also see a lot of people having a lot of problems with these trucks that I just can't fathom. I just don't have issues with my Toyotas, that's why I keep buying them, but we'll see.

Thanks, just found another thread on here where other guys were getting quoted 65 Cdn from their dealers for it. Must just be my parts place at my local dealer. I'll go talk a few others, odd as his prices are normally pretty good.

I agree with that to some degree also. I believe a truck should have some definite arch for hauling those loads, but I also believe that Toyota has been sacrificing some load carrying capabilities for ride quality. When they introduced these trucks last year at the (I believe Chicago Auto Show), the engineer briefly went into detail about this very subject. I saw it on a youtube video somewhere earlier this year, so I'm sure it's still out there. I also realize that people have problems with their new trucks and probably always have had, but back to that truck subject. Trucks have always squeaked and rattled and been rough and tumble after a while. Our '86-'95's use to have wicked torsion bar and control arm noises but it was just characteristic of that particular truck. These new Tacomas will have characteristics of their own, just like the '95.5-'04 trucks had, just like the '05-'15 trucks had. Their are other variables at play here also. Some folks live in humid climates like WA, OR, southeast etc. and may not have a suspension noise that someone in say, a dryer climate like CA or AZ might experience, so you're right, different problems for different people. Perhaps I live in a part of the country that has a mix of these issues or none but I know others do have these issues and that's a bummer, so I get it.
