Mine has a squeak in the rear. 5000 miles. Made a video and sent it to dealer. They are going to check the u bolts. When the truck goes bouncy bouncy, the truck is squeaky squeaky

If only it was that simple. This is the most bizarre squeak and the dealership doesn't have a clue yet what is causing it. It's definitely coming from the right front wheel area and is not the leaf springs. It is not a consistent squeak though. There is a definite correlation between the vehicle having been driven some distance (10+ miles) and the squeaking and popping occurring. I made an appointment with the service dept. at my local dealership, and was luck would have it, could not get it to make one noise. But it was raining and about 15 degrees cooler so I had a feeling the moisture and lower temperature prevented whatever is generating the squeak from doing so. So, to make a long story short, they didn't look at anything. Said there was really no used to, unless they could replicate the noise to see where it was coming from. Of course, 5 miles down the road after leaving the dealership, the right front was squeaking and chirping so bad it sounded like an overly obese couple having sex on a very old bed. I had to get to work so I couldn't go back to the dealership and have them look at it and the way my luck is going, it probably would've stopped the moment I pulled in the parking lot.

There are a couple of things I have noticed with the squeaking. It only starts after the vehicle is warm and driven a few miles. It's also not that audible when going over bumps but is more audible when going through dips in which the suspension has to extend. It also is only audible while driving or immediately after being driven and goes away within 5 minutes of being parked. I've posted a couple of videos of the squeaking noise it's making. The first one was after I'd driven home from work which is about a 20 mile commute. It was squeaking up a storm when I got home and this was a few seconds of me stepping on the step bar on the right front side. Within 5 minutes of being parked, though, the squeaking was gone and I could no longer replicate it by stepping on the step bars and bouncing the vehicle.

The next one was taken driving into the parking lot at work. If you have headphones on, you can hear the squeaking and popping inside the vehicle. After parking and getting out, I could make the suspension creak by stepping on the step bar on the right side, but once again, it eventually subsided and went away within a few minutes. Please, does anyone have any ideas? This is frustrating beyond belief. This thing doesn't even have a 1,000 miles on the odometer yet and I literally feel like ramming it into a wall and really giving it a reason to squeak. The dealership said they have heard of no other right front suspension issues with the new Tacomas (it's wonderful that I got the only one that has a squeaky front suspension issue). I'm at my wits end and am getting ready to drive it off a cliff which seems to be the only way to remedy this impossible to diagnose issue.

So whats weird in my case is that I have squeeking too in my suspension but I can only re-create it while driving. I've tried bouncing on the step bars and it never squeeked, only while driving. Starting to wonder if I have a wheel bearing issue. On a side note OP are you sure those are the Predator steps? I thought the Predator steps looked different than that?

Not really into the step bar jargon, but according to this link, yes I'm quite sure they're Predator step bars.

Neither am I but I think the link you posted are the Predator steps for 2nd gen. I believe the 3rd gen Predator steps look like this.

They will say yes too, many have... Then again both camps are talking about brand new redesigned trucks with new motors and so forth; so the reliability of both is in question as evidence by both forums having issues (can't use a 1980's vehicle to judge 2016 reliability).

I'm starting to get that feeling. When I get that response, that's when I'll drive it down the road and trade it for something else. I'm not a fanboy of any particular name brand. Someone else can have it that is a fanboy and doesn't mind either listening to loud creaking and squeaking, being told that "it's normal" even though it does sound like a 100 old lady getting out of bed, it's more reliable than any other truck out there even though it does have these issues before hitting the 1,000 mile mark, and "turn up your stereo" as being the most suggested solution. Geez!

Please let us know what they find out. We all expect that a new vehicle will be problem free - unfortunately there are a few quirks when dealing with a new model.
DO both sides make the same noise? And equally as bad? Have you crawled under while someone else rocks the vehicle to pinpoint the source? Good that you have the video, have that on hand to show the dealer when you get there.

And don't leave until you get an answer!

No, only the passenger side. Haven't crawled under it yet because the creaking only occurs while driving or the few short minutes after parking the vehicle. I'm not sure it would last long enough for me to crawl under and arrange for someone to rock up and down on the vehicle. That's what's so frustrating.

When you get to the dealer I would insist on taking one of the techs for a drive, and keep driving around until the squeaks start. If you know it only happens under certain conditions you're going to have to take part in the diagnosis, can't just leave it there and trust that they'll have the patience to investigate the problem fully

Looks like you answered your own question. You asked if they were Predator step bars and I said "yes." You didn't ask what generation. Now back to the original topic of squeaky suspension.

Curious as to what your sticker says. If that was a dealer add-on or Manufacturer add-on

My sticker says "This has nothing to do with my suspension squeaking!" Start another thread if you're curious about step bars and ask what others have. I haven't seen one new Tacoma in the southeastern US that doesn't have the ones like are on mine above when it comes to the Predator step bars.

For a New Member, you sure are fiesty. Seems to me you've gotten your answer OP. You may also want to check around the forum at other posts. I think I just read something recent on the "What did you do to your 3rd gen today" forum. Should check there.

P.S. Did your sticker really say that?
