I hate the drive to LA/SD. Such a pain to deal with all the traffic and the roads suck. I'm heading down to Cambria tomorrow and taking 1 the whole way. I love that drive, especially when I can take my time.

 

Ive always wanted to take the 1, one of these days LOL.

 

Well did a few more searches and found different part #'s for 2005-2012 & 2013-2015

 

IIRC they're the same except the 2013-2015 has an exhaust hanger that faces the opposite direction than the 2005-2012.

Some people just buy whatever is cheapest and heat the hanger up and twist it.

 

Its a long drive but well worth it. From sac to la it took 12 hrs taking 1 with a few stops food ,senic,gas. I would love to do it again but really take it slow and camp a few spots..

How bad was the wind drag and noise with no fenders?

 

Not really that bad! I was expecting a wind tunnel the whole way. I do notice I was getting blown around alot more, but thats about it

 

just wait until the batwings are on. I get tossed around like a ragdoll. and not IYKWIM

 

It's awesome, I love the scenery and beats the 5 or 101. Worst part is not being able to look out your window the whole time (if you're driving).

Damn that is a long drive. Yeah I'd love to camp, but the wifey is 6 month pregnant right now and will not camp. Don't blame her though.

Haha true, but she would at least tolerate it. Doesn't help she has the bladder of a 3 year old, so camping has never been her strong point. Now the kid is a freaking rock star camping.

 

Repurpose the lower bracket off of the bed liner side bins. Just put a bend in it and drill a hole for a bolt

 

Just have a muffler shop bend the last hangar for 20 bucks if you don't have a torch. Are you looking at that one in Half Moon Bay?

 

Thanks for the advice. That's what I should have done. Unfortunately they were thrown away with the cut offs.

I plan to use flatbar or 1/2" conduit with flattened ends. I'll attach a small angle to the fender behind the flare. The other side will mount to the original location on the bed.
