If it's already been talked about, please point me in the right direction, but I didn't see it...

Looks great from this distance. Did you remove the grill? And do you have any close up pics?

I removed the grill, but did not remove any of the inserts. It was super easy to remove. I'll take some close up pics later if I can. These are the tools I used. A 10mm deep socket and a forked trim tool.

Oh and I just taped about a 1/4 away around the bezel and peeled the dip "edge" off.

Hey sorry if you answered this already, but I'm considering doing this. What brand of dip and gloss did you use?

Okay so maybe it's a dumb question, but when you dip the emblems, how do you get rid of the overspray that goes in the middle/outside edge of the letters that isn't taped off?

I got some pics from today. So I can show how I dip emblems.

Leaving a open area around the emblem or whatever you are dipping makes it easy to peel later on.
    image.jpg

the idea is when you remove the tape to lift up the surrounding dip and it will "cut" around the emblem.

I do four coats 10 min apart.

I'm thinking about dipping the grille on my TRD OR, but not sure if I will like it. is it easy to peel off, and if I leave it on for a long time will it still peel off?

also, how does it hold up to bugs?

It is easy to peel off as long as you do enough coats. I had a mustang that I plastidipped pearl white. It held up to countless pressure washes and rocks. They make special soap for it too iirc. It met it's demise when someone peeled a quarter panel off.
