I don't understand why you would need to change the tranny fluid if your a 16...

 

No I want to change the oil not the tranny. But thefatkid was saying not to drain tranny fluid by accident

2nd Gen can reach the filter it's up top

Drain plug for the engine is on the bottom of the engine.
Drain plug for the tranny is on the bottom of the tranny.
The tranny generally gets accidentally drained because the plug is RIGHT THERE, so that's gotta be it right? It's not though.
There should be an access hole in the bottom of the skid to pull the ENGINE plug.
If the 3.5 is similar to the 3.4, you can remove the filter through the fenderwell, no skid plate removal required.

If it's like the 4.0, the filter will be on top. I haven't seen one yet so I don't know for sure but they don't design the trucks so that you have to disassemble the thing to change the oil.

 

Well I never could afford it but drooled all over them when I was in Germany for 7 years.
