Hello guys, I have a bit of an odd question and having some trouble founding anything online. I'm hoping someone on here may be able to help me out.

I have a 2014 dcsb that I just installed a set of bilstein 5100's on and set the front at 1.75". I have factory uca's and coils. I took it in for an alignment a couple days ago and it still doesn't feel righthat. I feel a slight intermittent hum from what I can gather is the front driver side.

The biggest issue I have is that I currently live in germany and the mechanic I took my truck to only has specs for the toyota hilux. I guess my main question is does anyone know how different they are or did I just get a bad alignment?

shoot for 0 camber, 0 toe & 2.5 caster. Humming, hmmmmmmmmmmm, is alignment that bad that tire is now humming or coincidentally a bearing starting to go? Did you get printout of alignment?

I don't have a printout mostly because everything is in German and useless to me. I see you have camber on there twice is one meant to be caster? And as for the bearing the truck just rolled over 20k miles so I wouldn't hardly think they would go that quick plus there's not any wobble or play.

OP have you tried contacting Toyota for the specs? Or ask Hunter (maker of alignment machine) if they can provide the spec for Tacoma. When Tesla was new...my friend had to ask Tesla for the spec so the shop he went to can do the alignment.

if castor is 30 that's ok and the toe is ok but camber looks scary.......but i dont know german so i am not completely certain what i'm seeing here without some google translation work. based on the numbers on the sheet it looks like you may have castor and camber penciled in reversed but i looked up sturz and it said that is indeed camber.

I had the mechanic explain to me as best he could what everything meant word wise as for the measurements im not sure if numbers i have now are right. The only reason I say that is because he used the specs for a 14 hilux. I called toyota but none of the techs could tell me whether they were the same specs or not.

I suggest you find another alignment specialist. If I was doing alignment, I wouldn't take the job on another vehicle without knowing the spec of the truck. Just guessing using hilux spec is very bad idea. To me it's a red flag and you should go somewhere else.

A good shop would call their alignment machine sales rep and get the numbers they need. This isn't 1970 where communication is slow. Tacoma isn't a low volume truck and their rep should be able to talk to their USA counter part to get any specs you need. I think you are going the wrong path with your current mechanic.

I had a alignment tech tell me that once. He told me the UCAs has absolutely nothing to do with an alignment. He is wrong, probably just too lazy...

Take it to a different shop or ask for a different tech. I got a different tech and explained to him what I wanted since the specs you need lifted are different than what is considered factory (hilux or taco). He was very understanding and even manually changed the computer into the specs I wanted so he ensured he nailed it. I do have aftermarket UCAs though, which allows for the caster to move. BUT I am lifted ~3" (billys set at 2.5") so I needed it. I would think at only 1.75" you could get it with the OEM arms...

I think that's what I'm going to try and do. But I think this time I may just bite the bullet and drive the two hours to the toyota dealership. Ifor what I'm hoping is the problem they hopefully will bensure the ones able to get it sorted. @303tacoma I'm in denial because I realize it could very well be that but I really don't want it to be lol. My whole thing is this problem started as soon as I got everything installed and hasn't gotten better since, even with the alignment. I realize it could be an issue but I'm gonna hope for the best.

As soon as I lifted mine it started!
I would just order the bushing from ECGS and have your mechanic put it in for you, if you don't wrench.
I'm pretty sure if you take it to Toyota they will just replace with another needle bearing.

Is there any way to check if that is the issue? Also do you how hard of an install it is?

Have you put in 4 wheel drive to see if the sound and vib disappears????if it does I would say that your issue is your needle bearing...
I had a friend at Toyota install mine... From what I gather from other members here in Colorado it is not that hard.. You could always buy the bushing and ask Toyota to replace needle bearing with this bushing although I don't know how this would fly..
Any good mechanics should be able to install it...
Read through that thread I linked if you haven't already
