truck not starting when i push clutch in?

I have a 99 tacoma extended 5sp V6

I have the push button start by the steering wheel and it starts like thAT!
But when i push the clutch in and try to start it, i get nothing!! Any ideas??? Thanks

Or if you have a thick floor mat or two you can't put the pedal all the way down.

Seems pretty obvious you wired in the new push button ignition switch in such a way that it conflicts with the OEM clutch start switch circuit.

I think he is talking about the clutch start cancel button working, but nit the clutch pressure switch.

Mines doing the same thing, only I don't have the clutch cancel button. I found the switch, just haven't adjusted it. It should take about 2 minutes.

 

OK - I see ... There's been a wave of folks installing push-button start switches on their Tacos lately, and I misinterpreted the OP to mean he was referring to a newly-installed push switch, not the clutch start cancel button.

 

Yeah, I know that you know what you are talking about. Wasn't a bash. You came from CT right?

 

I would check floor mats, then actually take a closer look at the switch. I had a minor version of this and it was just because the floor mat had pushed forward and was under where the clutch pedal almost hits the floor. Didn't bother the shifting, just the starting of the truck.
It's one of those things that's so obvious that it can be missed...
