10-4. Just seemed extreme to remove the kit seeing as the solution is pretty easy. Sucks that you had such a headache! Hope you get her sorted.

 

I was putting 700 miles on it the next day and didn't have the fix for it at the time. But I will get it right when I do it.

 

I'm still not having any issues since having the TSB 0026-15 on my truck, over 10k since it was done!

It's business. Toyota would rather not spend money to fix the problem from the manufacturer. Yes, it's dumb to us, but they want to make money. At least now they have a recall at least.

What year is the Jeep? The older ones are good

 

If they want to make money they should put out a good product. I have seen people that have read these posts that are putting off buying a new Taco because off these dumb issues that they have had years to sort out. If I would have read these posts before my purchase I would have had second thoughts, but have owned two Toyota mini-vans and figured I couldn't go wrong. Anyone at Toyota with two brain cells working at the same time should know Tacoma owners are going to lift them. This is costing them not helping them. BTW haven't seen a recall.

 

Drove my taco 2000 miles last week with the fresh tsb bushing in there an so far it is still holding up. Knock on wood.

By recall I mean "technical service bulletin". And I agree with you about the topic, not much we can do except make these threads and contact toyota. Plus the new tacoma is working out other bugs, the front diff should've been solved, but the technical service bulletin is relatively new.

 

I'm pretty sure some other guys said it was the same needle bearing style replacement. Possibly with different design.

 

Not sure if this has been said already, but there is supposedly a replacement bearing from Toyota. If you are under warranty, let them install it, and see if it works. If not, go the ECGS route.

 

I found what I think is the latest TSB and printed it off. It only goes to 2015 though and the replacement bearing part# is the same part# of the original bearing that came from new, so not sure how it will help, though some have said it did help them, and some said it didn't. My issue is I would have to put my lift back in to show the dealer it vibrates, because the way it sits now is fine. I think you are right that Toyota needs to hear from us owners, but getting the run around is a waist of time. Will probably order the bushing and install it into a new $35,000.00 truck. That bugs me, just saying. This is my first cv front axle 4x4, and a learning experience. I have a friend with a 2nd gen with 3" lift with over 180,000 on it with no issues. I think these bearings very in size, but that's my opinion.

 

Best selling mid sized truck for 11 years. This issue hasn't kept them from selling the shit outta Tacomas. You take the good with the bad. The 2nd gen is a great platform. You just have to fix some of the known issues.

 

I think the point he is making is Toyota has KNOWN about the issues for 11 years, and doesn't care to address them.

 

I get it. My point is that they don't care because it doesn't affect their ability to sell trucks. And anyone who buys a Taco with the intention of lifting it shouldn't be surprised if it starts humming.

Nice "I" have to fix it and "I" shouldn't be surprised if it has a bad design. "I" didn't know about it but Toyota has and does. I Don't remember the salesman telling me if I lift it I might have some KNOWN issues. Don't want to hurt anyones feelings, I know how sensitive and loyal people are about their trucks, just no excuse for the issue to still be around (especially) after all of them they have sold.

 

Old bearing on left, TSB bearing in center, ECGS bushing on right for those wondering if they are the same style bearing in the TSB. Just save the time and do the ECGS bushing because the other 2 will fail

 

Well that proves the TSB bearing IS different from the original, great pic. Not sure how you ended up with all three like that, but two thumbs up for you. Toyota needs to work with ECGS and fix this issue.

 

Gotta love Toyota giving you just yet another part that will fall apart like the other. Customer Loyalty definitely goes a long way with Toyota. Glad I just went with the ECGS Bearing instead of wasting yet more time with Toyota.
