sorry blackdawg i forgot to mention I'm also kind of an idiot, i threaded it back in as much as i could without it slipping cleaned it and backed it back out a bit but the bottom still slipped, we ended up cutting it off but now were dealing with the back 2 which aren't as easy at this point I'm just trying to cut them out as best i can

 

File it in half. It'll take time but it might work.

gonna have to invest in one of those, unfortunately i don't have one. we cut the top bolt of the shock with a hack saw and pulled the whole assembly out now we are tacking the bottoms of those bolts to the plate and just trying to unscrew em that way seems to be working well so far. I'm just hoping the other side won't be this difficult

They were broke loose last fall when we replaced the struts. So I dont think it'll be too bad.

Northwest isn't really any better on the salt and rust. Oh well

 

Started on wiring up the new head unit I purchased for my '03. This is my first attempt at soldering so hopefully everything works.

Yup, though if you buy a new part from the dealership it's one unit. I had my bearings fail 3 times on me so if I ever put the AC back together I'll probably give the complete sealed unit a try.

 

another question, how do I pull the ball joint from the spindle? I can only find threads on second gens doing it haven't found a single first gen thread with enough info. Im installing Total chaos arms btw. That little lip on the bottom of the spindle needs to come up with the ball joint right? So i can install the new solid metal things? I highlighted it in red

 

I'm pretty sure there is a snap ring somewhere. Maybe the top side and it gets pressed down to get it out. I changed one a few months ago but can't remember

So I'm looking to be able to remove my cargo basket to store when not in use and would like to be able to connect my lights up on a quick disconnect what would be a good waterproof connector to so?

 

Those can be quite a challenge to get out. Even in a relatively rust free climate. I ended up removing the spindles from the truck and having them pressed out by a shop.
