Please.. if you went from Tacoma to F150 - lets chop it up.

Thinking my next truck will need to be a fullsize and frankly I think GM is largely a throwaway brand these days.

Haters get bent, this is in the general automotive subforum. I do not want debate or butthurt; owners or possible future owners only.

    My mom got a 2010 F150 double cab in'11 or '12.
It drove great and rode great, we sold it in '14 because she wanted a smaller vehicle for in town after driving a 3rd gen T4R.

    6.2L at that. If I didn't have a Tundra I would have a raptor.

The new one will have the 3.5TT which is probably more fun than the 6.2

Not impressed with the 1st gen raptor, they should've gotten better payload capacity with mid travel.

The 3.5 EB is no joke, got one in this thing ('15 Expy EL) and it'll burn em down with no problem, cruises at 85 also.

Double cab Taco is too damn small for my family so really thinking Super Crew FX4 for next rig. Not much more cash than the new Tacoma as far as actual selling prices, not MSRP - and enough space for me. Only knocking down 17-18 MPG with my Tacoma on an average tank, so not really taking a hit there either.

Seems like a win win, aside from comparative resale value which I don't give a fuck about.

The 2.7 is faster to 60. Now, that doesn't really matter but not a bad choice either. My buddy pulled 21 highway out of his 5.0

I really considered getting one especially since you can get a locker in the FX4 package when I got my Ram but I couldn't get over having a turbo and possible reliability issues. I went with the Ram since I got a great deal on one of two 2015's left on the lot that was equipped how I wanted it. It was really a toss up. Good luck OP. You can really get a good deal on any full size if you wait towards the end of the year. I got mine the day before Thanksgiving.

@MQQSE just got a new RAM and loves it, too.

Never owned a Dodge product (RAM included).

I don't think turbos are going to be an issue, as far as i know they are not VGT's which makes them more reliable, plus they are water cooled so you don't have to idle before shutdown.

I still shy away from ram, mainly because of Chrysler, but also because of the rust and trans issues.

Look at the iihs top safety ratings. The newest f150 is so much safer than any of the competition tundra included.

I don't wanna turn this into a brand debate, but you should research the new 8 speed they put in them. I think you'd be impressed. I don't live in the rust belt so I have no comment there.
