I mean I get it, different strokes for different folks and all. I'm just confused because your profile signature says you have a TRD Tacoma (factory lifted)....why lower it? Or is it just curiosity?

There is a guy on here with a 4x4 Tacoma (can't remember if it was a first or second gen) that lowered it and turned it into a racing truck, so I guess nothing really surprises me anymore, lol. Maybe he'll chime in.

Since when is any TRD factory lifted?

The only lifted trucks coming to the dealer with a lift are the "special edition" trucks, but your run of the mill TRD OR and TRD Sport are no more "lifted" than the SR or SR5 trucks.

Lowered trucks do everything a truck can do, they all share the same theme - if they're not built right, they will have issues. A lifted truck or a truck laying rocker have no functional differences solely because of their proximity to the ground.

He's in the sport truck section, so don't troll him. This is the spot for lowered trucks, the lifted truck section is every other section.

Alright, poor choice in words...higher than the non TRD model.

    Still wrong.

Either way, this isn't the section to debate lowered trucks. Don't be that guy.

I haven't seen any lowered 2016s, but the previous body style looked great when slammed - I think the 2016 body would look even better with the longer front end and front end design that looks better on the ground than it does in the air.

Proportions are more favorable to lowering than lifting, and the lifted trucks are looking pretty dang good.

Curiosity. I've seen some clean Gen II's. I come from a background of growing up in east la/san gabriel valley where lowering a truck is not abnormal. I don't have the 4x4 so im not even going to try faking the funk and raising it like im going off road. For me it's either keep the stock suspension or lower it.

I think someone else already answered this but the TRD Sport isn't factory lifted. It's the same suspension as the SR5.

I also addressed the "why?" in another comment too. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks James!! I was hoping to get some legit answers in the street trucks section. I'm happy to see that everyone here is pretty cool and open minded.

Why would anyone undertake something few have attempted and less have thought of? For none of that in my case. Only for the pure satisfaction of creating something. Building something. Pure. Simple. Invest time to do something more advanced and challenging, and that reward is greater.
