X2. My Duratracs are horribly noisy, vibrate and shake like a motherfucker, and wet traction is non existent. When the roads are wet, it's like driving on ice. I tried having them road force balanced at different shops, but none could get them balanced. Never again. They were decent in the snow when new, buy that's all they had going for them.

I'm glad to hear the cooper st maxx is giving you better gas mileage. That's the tire I want to get next, but am hesitant because of the E load. I have the c load Duratracs.

I actually had terrible vibrations from the duratracs in my SUV but I blame that on my rotation negligence..

I have had the Duratracs for about 50k, same size you are looking into.
I second that they are definitely loud, and they do vibrate a bit.

However, I have found that wet traction to be quite good. I have had zero problems on wet roads, and these tires have performed better than others.
They are good in the snow as well.

It's funny everyone has different opinions on tires . Today I read another post about how someone couldn't keep their truck from losing traction on wet surface with at3s and I find them great in the rain another was that the kos sucked and I never had a problem .I guess it's best to get them and form your own opinion.i know my next tire will be the ko2 or duratrac.

I bought the wrangler authority in 31-10.5-15" for $600 otd. Have put 16k miles so far, and hardly any sign of wear so far. They are noisy but was expecting it in an agressive at tire. They work great in mud and handle well on the road. They handle towing a trailer and heavey payloads very well.
I spend half of my miles on dirt, mud, and clay and am very happy with them. Have had 2 sets of bfg mud tires on older landcruisers and for the price and performance, I'll take the wranglers any day. Just my 2 cents.

I can say without a doubt that's it's no opinion that my Duratracs are horrible on wet roads. They simply don't stick. If I'm on an incline and it's wet, I'll just sit there and spin. Going around a corner and the front either plows into the turn or the rear end fishtails. Even on a flat surface, starting from a stop sign and the rear spins bad.

What I would say it most likely is, is different or slightly different compounds were used at different times of manufacturing. Some people experienced decent reaction, while others experienced no traction. Either way, that particular tire isn't built with great consistency.

For example, I bought the exact same Michelin tires for my wife's Acura because I knew they would be great tires again. And they are. The Duratracs seem to be a gamble.

Oh and I forgot to add my $.02
I have the Wrangler 265/75/16 load range C Duratracs.

I live in southern Louisiana, plenty of rain and mud. As for offroad, they are leaps and bounds better than my old BFG T/A KO'S. Wet traction hasn't been an issue, responsibly utilizing the skinny pedal goes a long way, also cement vs blacktop traction in rain plays a part.
They are noisy, similar to a mild mud tire.
I've had no problems balancing these tires, nor do I have any vibrations. I've been satisfied.
