Since everyone likes different switches, I don't include a cab mounted switch with the upgrade. I include the extra wire, a tool to get the wires through the firewall rubber boot and the dual switch install instructions.

Would the switches be on a closed circuit or in a series? not sure if that's the correct terminology... i.e. would activating either switch turn on the lights or would you have to have both switches in the on position?

Both switches will have a separate power source.

The switches should be wired in parallel, so that either switch will work, correct, @mattgecko?

The bed and pin switch is wired in parallel.

The cab and bed switches are wired separately, separate power sources.

    Hey Matt,
I appreciate the install instructions for the 2016 Tacoma. After reviewing, I have a couple of questions. I plan to purchase/install the Diamondback SE truck cover. Their instructions state to remove the bulkhead rail to install a gasket. In my opinion, I should install your bed light kit AFTER installing the gasket for the Diamondback cover. I foresee problems with installation of the gasket if I have your bed light kit already installed. It looks to me the center bed light strip attaches to the same bulkhead rail the gasket attaches. I think I would not be able to move the bulkhead rail much at all if the center bed light strip is already attached. Do you agree? Any advice is appreciated. I attached the instructions from Diamondback to this post.

In your instructions, there is a photo showing where to mount the switch in the truck bed. Your photo shows a power outlet next to the small storage cubby in the truck bed. My truck does not have this power outlet in the truck bed. I have just the small storage cubby. If I mount the switch the same way as shown in the instructions, I would have to remove the storage cubby cover to access the switch. I could probably live with that, but just curious if there are other options. Any advice on an alternate location to mount the switch?
