Not sure if someone has already said this but interior color codes are as follows

    (14) Cement Gray - SR/SR5
    (22) Black/Caramel - SR5
    (23) Black/Red - SR5
    (15) Graphite w/ Gun Metal - TRD Sport/Off Road
    (24) Black/Orange - TRD Sport/Off Road
    (42) Hickory - Limited

I will go through the option codes later to see what else is missing/needs to be updated.

So I've been looking at purchasing a 2016 Tacoma DCLB 4x4 TRD OR. I have a few options to choose from but not sure...

    1) There is one in stock at a dealership with MSRP of $36,384 with running boards, carpet mat and sill protectors, and mudguards. They are willing to do $33,947 plus my College Grad Rebate. This would bring it to $33,197 + TTL. I told them $33,200 in my initial email and the sales person was considering it and I am waiting to hear back. It doesn't have towing like I'd want but can install a hitch for 1/3 of what Toyota charges. Just won't have oil and ATF coolers. What are thoughts on that?

    2) There is one arriving at another dealership that has Tech w/ JBL, towing, all weather and door sills, exhaust tip, and mudguards. MSRP is $39,373 and he is willing to do $36,755 with their $382 dealer free included. With College Rebate it would be $36,006 + TTL.

Difference of $2,809 or $3,463 depending on the price the first dealer agrees to... Which should I go for? I would only really want the color matched bumper and the heated seats. Sunroof would be nice but not necessary. I could live without the rest. Color matched bumper easy to replicate? Thoughts?

P&T gets bumper, heated seats and sunroof, package deal.

Personally, I had to have those options and towing. And I paid a tad more to have that.

It depends if you want the added options and if you're planning on towing. I know for me I towed my boat with my 05 and regret doing that. I did the same thing as what you're saying. The truck did not have the tow package so I installed one. When doing a lot of towing up passes like I was with a heavy boat it wasn't a smart thing to do. It purely depends on your situation. If the truck is yet to be built I would ask them to add on the tow package.

historical price increase is around 250-500 per year not over $1000

until I can confirm those codes I will add that to my unconfirmed tracking sheet

    edit :

some of these don't make sense, D9 I can understand removing and forcing to buy C8

just renaming a option code doesn't make sense. option codes usually stay the same for the life of the model/gen.

some codes are static even across all Toyota models across all years (ie: CF is always carpet floor mats, MF = mudguards, Vx is always the oem security system)

I received this message from a dealer yesterday. Pretty much any in stock will retain original MSRP but anything new coming in or ordered will increase by $360
"Toyota has increased the price of every Tacoma by $360" direct from the salespersons email to me

I don't have too many towing plans at this time but plan to down the road. I keep my vehicles for 10+ years so that's not a problem for me.

After further consideration, I may jump a package with Tow. It's a shame it doesn't have one in the first place. Rather have towing than running boards.

I got a quote from another dealer for a Tacoma, again DCLB 4x4 OR, with just tow package for $33,582. Or same truck but also Premium and Tech without JBL for $35,680. Both prices are before I even mentioned the $750 college graduate rebate.

The TRD Pro would be considered MY2017 correct? If so, wouldn't it make sense to begin a new thread for the 2017 Tacoma? Or will the thread be renamed?

I might just tweak the title and remove the year and just put 3rd gen. or I might start a new one and reserve the first few posts so I can keep a running tally to see how much the price changes over the lifetime of the generation.

or I might just add to the original and track the price changes in that thread.

Options, packages, accessories and stuff will change too. Might be cleaner to have a new thread. Hate to have a tone of threads though. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Pulled directly from my build sheets (I work in the industry)

    What Changed between c8-c9:

You are somewhat correct when saying "some codes are static" but you need to remember that what has changed is a package option code. Packages change all the time and therefor they must be labeled with a new option code.

thanks for the valid sources. only problem I see is that some of the old codes will still be valid up until dec-2016, so there will be a big confusion at the dealer and on this thread.

I am trying to figure out an updated original post formatting to keep the old data and tracking the new data. I will have to play around with it to get something worthwhile w/o being overly confusing.

are you taking this from a valid Toyota USA dealer or from either GST/SET?

Maybe by using the "Spoiler" Feature to create multiple click down links for the different parts of the year while still using the "Code" feature inside the Spoiler.
    Example:
    Code:
    7162 - SR ACCESS CAB 4X2 4-CYL AUTO LB - $ 21844 | $ 23300
    7186 - SR DOUBLE CAB 4X2 4-CYL. AUTO - $ 22355 | $ 24130
    7513 - SR ACCESS CAB 4X4 4-CYL. M/T LB - $ 23274 | $ 24825
    7514 - SR ACCESS CAB 4X4 4-CYL AUTO LB - $ 24728 | $ 26375
    7594 - SR DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO - $ 26786 | $ 28915
    .
    7122 - SR5 ACCESS CAB 4X2 4-CYL AUTO LB - $ 23799 | $ 25385
    7185 - SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X2 4-CYL AUTO - $ 24343 | $ 26275
    7126 - SR5 ACCESS CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO LB - $ 25308 | $ 26995
    7146 - SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO - $ 25926 | $ 27985
    7516 - SR5 ACCESS CAB 4X4 4-CYL AUTO LB - $ 26681 | $ 28460
    7170 - SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X2 V6 AUTO LB - $ 26389 | $ 28485
    7558 - SR5 ACCESS CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO - $ 28284 | $ 30170
    7540 - SR5 DOUBLE CAB 4X4 V6 AUTO - $ 28774 | $ 31060

We use a program called "PC Carbook"

We sometimes get information before its even released to the dealers.
