I think i read that somewhere too. Let me know if you want some, I know the owner of BBQ Island pretty well. He races a Class 10 car so I can pick some up for you and ship them or I'm sure they would ship direct to you.

    Thanks! I did find
Thanks for the offer! Their website (BBQ Island) has free shipping so when I run low on my current bag I may look into buying a bag from them.

No those I do avoid. Found a place about 15 mins from my house that carries Lumberjack so I have been buying them there. Reminds me I need to make a run there in the next couple weeks only about 3/4 of a hoppers worth left, need to pick up some more, about time to get into the season where I can smoke more and not freeze my butt off while doing it. :)

Found brisket at $2.99/lb today, so I've got an 11 lb packer rubbed down with salt, pepper and some paprika waiting for the charcoal to fire up. Late start, so I figure I'll smoke it for ~7 hrs and then finish in the oven.

Using a new chimney and mis-calculated my charcoal. Went too light and only got 5 hours of smoke before the temp dropped. It's 8pm so I'm going to the oven. Wrapped in a brown paper bag and set it at 250. Will be interesting to know how this affects the taste. Current meat temp is 149 at the 5 hour mark.

Awesome. Sams club had brisket for $2.68/lb for the whole brisket.

I cut off the point and I'm making corned beef with it. I'll smoke the flat in a week or two.
