I wouldn't recommend relying on the salesman to give it to you straight. And when plunking $30k down on anything you better do some independent research first. One hour on the internet and you would know these trucks commonly have vibration issues, sagging leafs, rattles, etc. Then you can make your own decision on whether or not you want to deal with it. I'm a Toyota guy and this is definitely the lowest quality Toyota I've ever had. I just wasn't surprised by it because I did my research first.

I get it, it's my fault for not looking into a issue that I had no idea existed. Why I didn't get on the internet and look up "2016 Tacoma vibrations" is my bad. SMH I'm a "do things right guy", I don't care who makes the truck. If you would have read my earlier post I said I had a friend with a 2nd gen Taco with a 3" lift and over 180,000 miles on it and he has never mentioned any vibration issues, so why the crap should I have looked into it. It's a Toyota, shouldn't be a issue.

I thought pretty much any truck that gets lifted you run the risk of having to chase down a few vibes after the fact... Not just Toyota. Yeah sometimes all will go well but not every time.

Shame on me for keeping mine bone stock and having none of these issues. Sorry guys. You lift em and they look cool but you are asking for issues.

Lets see here, page 171 of "OFFICIAL 2nd gen 4x4 front differential bearing vibration thread" started in 2011, and it's now 2016 and it takes a little company called "east coast gear supply" to come up with the fix because Toyota has not. It's like this, I know how to fix it now thanks to ecgs and I'm not in the business of defending Toyota or coming up with excuses as to why Toyota has yet fixed this one simple problem that they know about. I like the rest of the truck and as soon as I fix it I'm sure I will be happy with it. Maybe others will find this thread and skip over all the bull crap and find the answers they need thanks to the ones who posted meaningful solutions. over and out.

Stock trucks have had the problem too. Otherwise there would be no official TSB from Toyota.

Get off your high horse before you fall and get hurt.

I'm at 93K and no problems. Just got new frame and good to go. I do off road some and have a few scratches but don't rock crawl or anything. If I ever have problem I will install the ECGS bushing to resolve this problem.

And, not every lifted truck gets vibrations. Seems to be hit or miss. At least there's a real fix for those who lift and experience the vibes.

Bilstein 6112 up front set at 1.59" lift. 5160 out back with Icon progressive AAL, factory overload still in for 2". ARE CX Shell. Alpine audio with JL speakers all around, cut holes and mounted some 6.5" speakers in the access doors. 6k 35w HID, K&N, Factory exhaust but cut to point back not to the side to keep it clear of obstacles when backing OR (already destroyed one;). Pop & Lock tailgate lock keyed to truck key. Vented and drilled rotors (EBC rotors and yellow pads died in a yea lol), sound deadening everywhere. Illuminated 4x4 switch. Hoping to add a keyless entry push button ignition setup, and some Katzkin Seats with heaters soon.
"Good Guy Toyota" supports small business. See ECGS is the real winner here....and we win too.

I lurked some hear about a year before I even bought my Tacoma. This thread caused me to wait the year. I knew that if I bought a Tacoma I'd lift it and I decided not to buy one because of this issue. Then I totaled my 2wd ( only 2wd I'd ever owned and couldn't trade it for a new 4wd Ranger because discontinued) Ranger. So I thought fukc it, I'll deal with it and bought a new 4wd Tacoma. Funny thing is I've had my truck lifted for Three years and still don't have a vibe, probably because I've only got 12,000 miles on it. When it does start I'll get the ECGS bushing and be done with it. EZ PZ.

Is amazing the amount of miles some are putting on their trucks with the groaning/moaning/vibration. I have just under 500 miles on my truck and only 20 miles on it since lift since noise started and will not drive it till fixed. Scheduled in for Monday for TSB bearing. Is good to see so many having good luck with the TSB bearing. Have the ECGS bushing ordered just in case.

Kind of upset me when I was at dealer setting up appointment explaining the issue to service manager when one of the other service writers instantly said it's normal. I looked at him and said it is not normal to which he replied OK, you know more about this stuff than I do, lol. I think some of these guys only know what Toyota tells them.

I was an auto tech for 10 years, now diesel tech going on 17 years, have been through 2 weeks of failure analysis. Not saying I do know everything but have been at it long enough to know a little bit anyway. sammich :sandwich:

My experience with nearly all car dealerships (for service) has been crappy. When I got the vibrations after lifting I didn't even consider going to the dealership even though I was under warranty. I don't feel like I should have to take the time/stress to go argue my case just because they know but don't want to admit there's a problem. I understand their side, which is why I know it's gonna stress me out to argue with them, so I don't.

Mine had 1000 on it when I lifted it, and it vibed right away. But whatever you do, don't say anything negative about it, you will hurt feelings.
