    best of luck to you OP, hope it is a simple fix.

    So they weren't able to see any oil right away looking around your engine bay in normal light?

    Or did they just go the UV sensitive route to keep time worked on it short?

    I've driven through a few Rivers/creeks on some hunting trips here. Had water up to the bottom of doors. We don't get much swamp mud in the desert.

    Correct. They don't come stock in the Southeast Toyota area. No idea why.

    UPDATE: I took a look at it the other day after about 100 miles and noticed the drips forming again. So I called the dealer and they told me to take bring it back in. To me it looks like it's leaking from the front cover right near the P/S pump (it's the highest point I can see a drip). I just got off the phone with them and they're opening a case with Toyota and he thinks it is leaking from the front cover. I took a couple pics the best I could, I'll post them up tomorrow.

    Here's the few pics I took the other day

    image.jpg image.jpg

    And here's what they gave me to drive
    image.jpg

    In their defense they offered me something bigger but I don't really care, at least it gets 55 mpg. However it is kind of embarrassing, oh well hopefully it's not too long.

    Well here's the latest update; after having the truck 9 days they finally called to tell me it was complete. It was coming from the timing cover and they had to remove the valve covers, water pump, oil pan, the front diff and pretty much everything on the front of the motor to get to it. The other day I decided to take a look to see how everything went back together and I noticed that there are drips forming again from the same location. I also noticed quite a few other things as I looked around.

    Here's when I first found it;

    3-31.jpg

    Here's after about 100 miles after they cleaned it all off;
    4-18.jpg

    And finally 5 days and less than 200 miles after they repaired it;
    5-3-3.jpg

    I also found they scratched up the fan pulley with channel locks while reinstalling the fan5-3-12.jpg

    They also didn't reconnect two harnesses back in the brackets5-3-14.jpg 5-3-15.jpg

    They also missed this;
    5-3-13.jpg

    Well I opened a case with Toyota last week while it was still in the shop due to the unusual situation it's in. I followed up with them yesterday after I found the truck was still leaking. Since the truck was in for the repair and it is still leaking my case has been moved up the priority list. Not sure what the end result is going to be but they're contacting the dealership first and are going to get the truck straightened out first then they're going to see what they can do to make things right with me. I'm trying to keep a cool head about this but my patience is starting to wear thin.

    Damn dude, that's pretty sad. Sorry to see this. I wouldn't blame you for wanting to blow a fuse on this dealership. Does anyone take pride in their work anymore? Unfortunately this is the status quo these days. Precisely why I'll never bring my truck in unless it's something very major. Good luck with it, try to stay positive and maybe find another dealer.
