Went from the wires going everywhere (even worse in the engine bay):




To being put in wiring loom and making it look a bit cleaner, oh and I now remember how tedious wiring is




Where it goes in to the firewall, made a new hole and routed the 2 harnesses through, what a pain.







The engine bay wiring for now until I make an excuse to buy a Pelfreybilt fuse box mount

 

So I don't have to search how to do it again, here are the steps for turning off the unlock/lock key fob beep(s).


Step 1: Open the drivers door and insert the key into the ignition.

Step 2: Remove the key from the ignition and within 5 seconds, reinsert the key back into the ignition and switch it to the ON position.

Step 3: After 10 seconds with the key in the ON position, the system enters the answer-back mode.

Step 4: After the 10 seconds in the on position, the answer-back switching mode is started, press the remote (I did Unlock) twice and You will hear a long beep, this is the system turning off
or on based upon which of the systems is currently set.

Step 5: Remove the key and try the unlock/lock. It should be silent now

 

We went to Fisherman's Camp Trail near Lake Elsinore, CA to do a little Sunday hike.

Hiking in California is A LOT different than hiking in Washington. Can't wait to get back but still good to get into the outdoors!

 

You get a lot better weather in cali thought thats for sure! Looks like a good time

 

Ironically enough it poured on us the last 45 mins of our hike so everything was soaked. After we got back we decided to drive some FS roads for a little bit that got the truck pretty muddy.

Still in the babying stages of a new 2nd Gen owner so I rinsed the mud off when I got home...

Lengthened the Rigid Industries wiring harnesses and cleaned up the wiring in general underneath the center console shifter bezel for the fogs and light bar. No pics because, well... I hate wiring so wanted to be done ASAP.
At least my bumper lights worked now! It killed me not having them hooked up to the OTRATTW switches for the past week or so

 

Got a VIAIR portable air compressor, gonna think about mounting this somewhere on the truck and running a constant, or switch power to it since I'd rather have it with me all the time and not just collecting dust in my garage...

 

I love being able to just flip a switch and have the compressor on

 

Yeah I bet.... well, the wife is gone next weekend so it's gonna be a man time weekend and I'll be figuring out a place for it and what gauge wiring I need to hook up where and where the switch is gonna go, etc.

I also have some redline hood struts to figure out how to get on, should be a fun filled 'mod' weekend.

 

After MUCH I just decided that I'll be going with skinnies....

Upon checking out his build it's eerie how similar our builds are. Not only that but in the past couple of weeks I was thinking of getting the FJ Trail Team black wheels, I guess not now

@northwesttaco you ever clay bar or wax your taco?

I'm thinking since the ole lady is gone next weekend that'll be my perfect excuse to spend 2-3 hours uninterrupted detailing my pride and joy

 

No but I need to.. Every time I've tried waxing a vehicle it doesn't come out to well. Going to look into a detailing place to see how much they would charge

 

Eff that. My wife got our old car detailed and I've seen quotes from $100 (a homie hook up) to $200.

You're way better off buying the clay bar, waxes and orbital sander/buffer and a few microfiber towels for the same price as 1 professional detail.

Did you do it in the sunlight before?

 

It was on a cloudy day last time I believe. Ill probably wait until fall to fully detail it, no sense in doing it now and then get more scratches in it this summer. I need to though
