Fishing only bugs me 'cause I never catch anything other than bait and fireworks scares the crap out of the dogs

sixtys/wannabes/Susan. Looks like spring may have finally arrived here. Out to do yard work.

Followup on the mysterious visitors that made off with 2 of my 3 big koi:

• I covered the pond with heavy mesh held down all around with rocks
• The third koi disappeared in spite of the mesh

Whatever was doing it seems to leave the smaller fish alone. I guess no more koi for us. That's okay, they looked too big in our little pond anyway.

Do you have a game camera you could set up by your pond? I am curious as to what predator snatched your Koi.

 

I'm looking into "trail cams". I'll let y'all know what comes of it.

OH NO! MQQSE deserted us! Maybe he will come to his senses and rejoin us!

Feeling pretty good after "the hike" to the fishing grounds. Had my limit first, then the young guy got his, then his GF got hers. At least I didn't have to up and down the steep bank at other holes we fish.
Got a darn blister just above the ankle due to not wrapping the bottom of the jeans exactly right to put the waders on. First time that happened, I felt it right away but didn't take the time to readjust the wrap like I should have.
Have a week to hunt turkeys before walleye opens, usually they open the same day and if I don't get a turkey pretty quick I lose a lot of prime walleye fishing. Definitely will put time in during that week trying to get that mountain chicken!
Off to clean fish!

 

It is Thunder Chicken season here right now but I don't pursue them. Have been warned that it is addictive.

 

Morning all:
Yup, hunting them can become addictive, actually it's a pretty nice time to be out in the woods up here in the NE.
I've had the most fun while calling a bird out in front of me, and then one comes in silent behind me and gobbles about 30' away. I had 3 different ones do that, almost jumped out of my camo, and didn't get any of the three!
