Not sure about what's in your area, but I got mine ordered from Discount Tire. They're also on TreadDepot.com for $202/tire - $40 discount + shipping. The guy at DT ordered them for me at $200/tire + install = $976 OTD. Not too bad IMO because I was having the same experience as you when I was looking.

I ordered mine through tread depot and had them mounted. I did 5 so I could have the spare as well.

That's a great price. I had DT quote me a little over 1100 otd. Their per tire price was really cheap but they wanted almost 40 a tire for certs.

The original quote was close to $1100 for 4 tires without certs for me, but they really wanted my business and actually seemed to care that I've been a customer for the past decade (which is a lot more than a lot of places I've spoken to lately).

Yeah, factory TrdOR. No rubbing so far. Took it on some very rural/sketchy township roads over the weekend and have zero issues.

Did the 255/85 spare tire fit where the spare in normally stored on the bottom side of the bed?

It will fit. It requires slight modification of the hold tabs. Go look at Crom's build thread. He has detail on how to fit a 255/85 tire in the spare well.

Good to know I won't have to modify the rear wheel well. Any reports on the fronts?

I've still got mine on, with no plans on removing it, so if you're not rubbing up front that's good news to me.

Got my 255/85r16 Cooper Discoverer S/T MAXX put on today! Only drove a quick trip home from the tire shop, but so far they're great. Turning is a little squishy, but I think I just need to get used to the taller sidewalls. No rubbing under normal city driving except on the front wind deflectors...so I took them off as soon as I got home.

Hey, does anyone have 255/85/r16 or 255/80/r17 with a 2 inch lift? Would I need a cmc?

No. I'm running the 16" ST Maxx with stock suspension. No modifications.
