My 2016 TRD OR has some swirl marks and scratches on the back side of the clear plastic. It looks like someone took some fine sandpaper and wiped the surface. I have only cleaned the clear plastic with microfiber and windex. You can only see it when the sun shines on it. The outer surface ( part I can clean ) is smooth as glass and NOT scratched. This is definitely on the inside surface; the part you can't touch. You can't see it unless the sun shines on it and then they light up like a Christmas tree. Annoying but I figure getting dealer to replace it will result in more problems, rattles, etc. I searched on this and see some think they are scratching it themselves, which they might be. After close inspection I am 100 % sure these are on back-side. Has anyone ever disassembled the dash to remove the instrument panel cover glass (actually plastic)? I am not going to worry about it unless there is an easy fix. As I said I believe trying to get a new (scratch free) one will be futile. Probably result in other issues. The plastic looks perfect unless sun shining on it. Then scratches everywhere.

Yea it's worse then butter. It's easy to change I was told when I had the dealer clean a huge thumb print I had on my screen in the dash behind it. However I keep seeing more and more develop as mine has been cleaned with the softest cloth I have found.

So they removed your dash bezel and plastic shield. Then cleaned the back side and reinstalled it? Without creating any rattles, breaking any clips? Did they need to remove the steering wheel or actual instrument cluster? Or just access clear plastic and remove it?

Yep no signs of a single mark and zero rattles so far. Said it was max an hour job but it was a warranty claim, did not remove anything major like a steering wheel.
