Is anyone else having this problem?

I'm barely hitting 6,000 miles and have 3 noticeable paint chips the bottom textured paint part of the truck right behind the front tires.

I don't know how you guys with spacers on here deal with it, it's driving me nuts. Buying touch up paint soon to avoid rust.

No mud flaps, didn't come with the truck and haven't bothered buying any.

However, it might be necessary even though I don't like the look of them.

You might want to buy a set, it'c cheaper than the alternative.

I explored this option, most respectable detail/body guys will tell you on a white vehicle its terrible, it ends up yellowing no matter what and will look terrible in a year or two and costs to install and remove. I just accepted its a truck, and when it gets terrible I'll repaint/etc.

Yeah your right, I shouldn't be OCD about it since that's not me.
Their only noticeable to me since I know they are there and only found them when washing the truck.

I guess I'll just keep up with the touch up paint to avoid rust or flaking.
Down the road, maybe even vinyl wrap the whole truck if it gets that bad.

 Yep, I do touch up paint every summer and once its beyond terrible I'll look into repainting it, etc. if Im not in a different truck by that point.

Posted these a while back. Flares have a bunch of pits and there was a chip in the paint. This is from highway driving only after 1 month. Haven't checked too close since then.

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Xpel ultimate film has a 10 year warranty against yellowing. Just bought a kit for my taco and will see. Tried a 3m kit on my white S2000 and it yellowed after a few years and was removed.

Only concern on the side of the doors is the surface is textured with rock chip coating and I do not think a film would adhere well.

I'd get the mud flaps as well - love mine and they keep the truck a LOT cleaner.

Mud flaps are the way to go. Will keep 98% of rock chips away. They don't look great, but better than chips. Touch up paint is a must especially in the rust belt. Exposed metal means rust can set in quick.

My truck came with some plastic near the rear wells and tailgate. Nothing I ordered. Am I the only one? Kinda don't like em, too many air bubbles for me. I understand as they where installed over orange peel.

Xpel still yellows, they all do, there's no way around it, if its exposed to dirt/elements and sun its never gonna not turn some color. White shows it worse.

I'll go ahead and try 3M scotchgard protective film.

It's about 16.99 on Amazon for a 6inch by 60 inch roll and I can apply it myself over the textured paint since that's where my rock chips have been.

Hopefully I get it done by the end of this week and I'll comeback and report.

That's one way to go about it, I should've left it covered in mud.
I would have never seen any imperfections lol

I would hesitate, I've heard it's actually not so easy to install diy. Good luck though, and it's gonna yellow, but your money.
