Do you leave it on your truck 24/7?

I did for about a year. Currently off the truck.

All the things I mentioned were either issues as soon as I received it or happened after having it for only 6-8 months other than the cover ripping while driving. That happened after about a year of it being on the truck.

:anonymous: two years now I've owned the truck and only been out once as well. Lofts of day trips though.

I just got too good of a deal to pass up on

Place an upper string like a foot or two above the hammock mounts and use a tarp over that

That's a Gander Mountain dining awning and it looks like the perfect size for $40. Only thing is that there isn't a Gander Mountain within 100 miles of Fayetteville

Just get any small tarp that you can attach ropes to and be able to stake down

Just look at the build thread
If I were to do a RTT, I'd get a hard shell.

Welp. I've developed an intermittent misfire after changing my valve cover gaskets, plugs, wires, coils and fuel filter which I was doing in preparation for this trip. I really hope it's just a vacuum leak at my PCV. I replaced it but not the gasket or the hose (both very hard and the hose is cracked). Ordered replacements yesterday but I really hope that fixes it because I intend on doing my power steering rack and LCA bushing before this trip and time is running out.

ooooh gotcha. Yeah those are cool. If I ever get to the point where I'm camping with the truck a lot more, I might try to get a rack for the cab and find a way to reinforce the roof to hold the weight

I just need to change my oil and rotate my tires before the trip and my rig will be ready.
I think all of my camping stuff is in order and will just need to prep some meals.

I still need to remove my spindles and get the wheel bearings replaced, change lower ball joints, install new cv's, re-boot my old cv's, and change the oil. That's just the minimum stuff I need to do.

I guess I am at an advantage of having a new rig to not have to worry about that stuff right now. Too bad you are not closer and we could knock that out in a day.

Yeah, the only part that I see being an issue are the wheel bearings. Us 1st gens have to have them pressed out and new ones pressed in. And if they're not done right they'll fail very quickly. So I have to take the spindles off and bring them to a shop so I can save a little on labor and time.
