I finally got the dual domelight mod done in my '99. I just swapped in my regular cab mirror and domelight for now. Eventually I will bolt in a 2nd gen 4Runner dual map light/mirror but at least it is wired up.

Also, I got the TRD Tundra wheels painted. Just need to get some rubber on them!

Use one out of a 2nd gen 4Runner. If your interior is grey it will match better as the 95.5-00 grey interiors are a darker grey. I swapped a 2nd gen 4Runner one into my regular cab '96 Tacoma and it was really simple.

I did this on my 99. Got the map lights on ebay from a 91 4runner.
Same map lights as my 03 has, except the 4runner one had a door switch. I wish my 03 had that switch!

The one I bought was brown and my interior was blue, so I used black vinyl dye spray leftover from when I refurbished the faded black plastic front bumper.

4.5 I think. It's just weird because I'm just now having this issue. Which makes me lean towards a bad bushing

Front springs? They are less than a year old. Toytec coils. Rear springs are absolutely shot though

Haha with that back spacing and a 33x12.5 you're probably rubbing the UCA and frame.

Finally got all the parts for my Tacoma 2 Tundra brake upgrade. A couple questions though....

1.does any1 have pictures of what to do with the banjo bolt?
I read somewhere you can use a brake line from a 4Runner...? Soo confused

2.when I unhook the brakes will all the fluid drain or will it stay in?

Sorry just try to figure out what I'm doing before I start.image.jpg

I ordered new, extended brake lines. Didn't have to enlarge the hole in the current lines, plus as old as the rubber hoses are, you get improved braking just from upgrading them. I got mine from wheelers, good price. I think someone has an on going group buy for them too.

If your cap has a good seal on it, it will run out very slowly. you can get a hose clamp pliers for cheap, but I didn't use them. Now is also a good time to flush your entire brake fluid system. I recommend you spend the $21 (+shipping) for speed bleeders, will really help you do the bleeding all on your own and so much better than any pump a normal garage mechanic can afford.
