The government has stopped selling these sleep sets.
BUT, I have just arranged to get a few Sleep sets (Somewhere Between NEW and EXCELLENT)
At the time of you wishing to place an order, I can send you a PayPal invoice or you can contact me by messenger (Here) or e-mail (tsa_thrasher@comcast.net) and I can set up an ad for you on my website, so you get the TW pricing.

These prices are ONLY for TACOMA WORLD members.
    Inventory Update - 08/10/2020

    COMPLETE SETS GONE!!!

    (0 available) Excellent Condition - $175.00

(0 Available) Obviously Used Condition - GONE!!!

I have some single Green (Light Weight Patrol Bags) by themselves. Available listed here:
    (10 Available) Green Bag ONLY

    Excellent Condition - $42
    Used Condition - $30

These prices do not include shipping. To estimate shipping you can check with the USPS or UPS (Or I'll be happy to quote you a price)...My zip code is 22630. The sleeping bags fit in a 13"x13"x13" box and weighs about 12 pounds (On average). Two (2) bags will fit into a box 26"x13"x 13" (24 Pounds).

    Condition Definitions:

Excellent Condition - The sleeping bags may have been used before (once or twice), but show little to no wear and are in perfect condition, just like the Unissued - Unused bags. In many cases one or more parts of the set may be new or unused/unissued.

    Obviously Used Condition
    - These bags have been used, the internal bags may have holes, tears (Easily fixed with a needle and thread) or small runs in the nylon cloth, they may have fading or stains on them (These bags have been stored in a government warehouse and do need to be washed), the zippers work perfectly, all the sleeping bag parts function perfectly. Any of the holes are easily fixed with a needle and thread and does not effect the performance of the sleeping bag. The Bivy covers may have a small hole or two in them and but are easy to repair with iron on patches and other kits available by way of a quick search on Google.

THESE ARE TRUELY A 4 SEASON SLEEP SET!!!

The bags were stored in a government warehouse for a number of years. They may have dust or dirt on them, but nothing that a good washing won't take care of. I will include care and feeding instructions with each order so you can keep your sleep set clean and fully functional for a life time.

The 4- Part US Military Modular Sleep System includes:

    * Bivy Cover Bag - GORE-TEX® breathable/waterproof in Woodland Camouflage. This bivy will allow you to sleep in full out rain or in the snow and stay dry.

    * Patrol Sleeping Bag - rated for 30-50°F, can be used with the Bivy Bag in cold/wet conditions.

    * Intermediate Sleeping Bag - is rated for +30 to -10°F or more, can be used with the Bivy Bag and/or inserted into the Patrol Bag.

NOTE: If you use all three bags (Bivy Cover, Intermediate Bag and Patrol Bag) in this set, the set is good to -30/-40 degrees. That is some rating. I have personally used these bags in -25 degrees and had to unzip the foot area so I could cool off a little, as they were so warm.

*Compression Stuff Sack - water resistant bag. (The stuff sacks i have are not new...they may have some small imperfections, but they are fully functional and will allow you to store the sleep set properly).

All the bags are mummy style Polargard®HV resin bonded polyester filled, rip-stop nylon shell, adjustable hood with heavy duty nylon zippers. They are manufactured by Tennier Industries. NSN # 8465-01-445-6274.
    http://www.tennierindustries.com/products/modular-sleep-system-4-part/

At this time I do not have any of the XL sizes. They are impossible to find and I have only seen 3 or 4 of them in 5 years of buying and selling over 3000 sleeping bag sets from the government at auction. Some of these sleep sets are over sized (out of normal specification, so if you are taller than 6' and/or weigh over 200 pounds let us know and we can look through our inventory to find a sleep set will fit someone up to 6' 3"/275 pounds....

Military issue sleeping system, good for all weather conditions, year round. This is truly a 4 season sleeping bag system.

Great sleeping bags. I had one when they first issued them. I was sleeping on a cot during a flash flood. My clothes in the storage bag stayed dry and so did I inside the sleeping bag. If you want a great multi weather sleeping bag that will keep you warm and dry, buy these.

If the excellent are in EXCELLENT condition, then let's go with those. Should help soak up some of that shipping cost.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all the members that have purchased sleeping bag sets from us. The response has been wonderful. If any of you have checked out our website (under the about us link), www.adventurizm.com, you will know that my 12 year old son started this part time business when he was 7 years old. I know people think oh how cute, a 7 year old with a business. But, this more than cute, it is a real business. My boy met a US Marine at the Warren County fair here in Front Royal, Virginia when my boy was 7 years old. This American hero had been in Afghanistan for about a year and stepped on an IED. Both of his legs were blown off. My son spent 4 hours with this young hero both in horror initially and then in fascination, wondering what motivated this young man to serve his country and sacrifice all possibility to live a normal life for his country. After spending these 4 hours with this young hero my son decided he needed to help our soldiers who have come back to the United States and in many cases have been forgotten, all but going medical attention for their life changing injuries. I was very supportive of my young boy's decision to do something, as I am a federal employee and spent much of my adult life overseas dealing with shit bags that hate freedom and this country. I told my son to come up with a viable idea and I will support it. Bobby, my son, came to me a week or so later and said, dad I want to buy and sell military surplus and donate the profits to some organizations that are already helping our wounded heroes. So, here we are 5 years later, my kid has done over $300,000 in sales in the last 5 years, through his website, E-Bay, Amazon and other websites like Tacoma World. His business is self supporting, is not taking short term loans from me and maintains an account balance to ensure he can buy inventory as needed, he regularly donates money to a variety of non-profits annually, is putting away money for college now and has learned how to run a business. Including all the financial operations, inspecting of used products; doing quality control of the products he sells and prepared all the orders. These things include picking, packaging, printing invoices and printing postage. I do help with the customer communications, corporate filings and the taxes, but overall he runs this business on his own. I am so proud of what he has done and believe these experiences will serve him well in his adulthood. Thank you for your support and reading my ramblings, but I just wanted to let you know who you are doing business with and the great cause you are supporting.

    Thank you for your support

    Bobby and Bob Thrasher

I have two of these sleep systems and as long as you aren't planning to hike with it it's a great system. All together it weighs over 10lbs with the bivy bag!

Would make a great cold weather sleep system for the back of a truck or in a RTT.

You are absolutely correct!!! They are a little heavy to carry the complete set-up. If I am planning on hiking or camping from a backpack, I generally carry only the Patrol Bag and the Bivy Cover. These in total weigh about 2.5 pounds, which is not too bad. But, what O906 has said is true, as a complete set, unless you are ready to sacrifice something else in your kit for the -40 degree sustainability of these bags, you will not want to carry on your back the complete set. They ARE perfect car/truck sleeping bag sets!!!
