might want to check first before canceling anything. per posts here corporate toyota has shut down dealer discount internet sales.

 

Troy informed me he could not sell via internet (Genuine Toyota) to out of state residents. Thus why I went in person, even if it was a long drive.

 

Just got an 8 year 75k warranty for $950 at Pedersen Toyota in Ft Collins, CO.

Troy is selling SET's Fidelity Service Contract. SE Toyota buyers cannot get the genuine Toyota VSC.

 

I got a genuine Toyota VSC, however I went in person and specified that's what I wanted.

Mine was 7/75k for $1245. I really wanted one but was hesitant at that price after reading all the posts here. Not sure how people are getting them at $700, $800, or $900. Finance guy said he was giving it to me at the price employees get it. When it was time to sign for it, I noticed it was a 3rd party contract. I had them switch it to the Toyota platinum contract and they kept it at the same price. I still don't know if that's a fair price or not. Built into my financing so if I cancel it goes to the bank (whatever).

 

people were getting it for that thru 1 or 2 dealers but no longer available. think it was stopped around the first part of last november.

 

Don't get me started on the Moran Family. They add $300 Mats and $400 Mop and glo at the port. Which is why I ordered my truck without any accessories (although the dealer prep added the mop and glo to the truck before they realized it was sold). So I got a free tint job, pinstriping which I took off, one year dent and ding protection and one year Key Fob replacement, nitrogen in the tires and a few oil changes. $1295 addendum crap. I don't even consider the addendum when buying. I know my price before I find the vehicle I want.

Dealers HAVE to sell cars to stay alive. We don't have to buy them from dealers. I sold my 2015 TRD Sport with 4K privately. My dealer would have rather I traded it. But there's another $2000 I gained plus the $2500 off MSRP. Adds up fast.

Never trade a Toyota ,Honda or Corvette. There are too many looking for used late models they can save $3000 or more on.

 

This might be a dumb question, but let's say I purchased the 7/100 warranty. Does that tack on to the existing warranty, or does it replace it?

 

They overlap, so you're actually only getting 4 more years.

 

This is why I'm looking for an extended warranty right before the current
one(3/36 from the factory) is about to expire.

 

Troy is awesome! Back when you could shop genuine Toyota warranties, he and Jerry from Kansas gave the absolute best prices on the internet.
Good to know you can drive there and buy it, he is about 2.5 hours from me.

I could be wrong, but from what I was told you are still going to have those 3yr/36K subtracted from whatever warranty you buy. You wont "win" by waiting.

 

correct. if you read the paperwork and Toyota financial, the warranty starts from the in-service date of the vehicle (date first sold on new vehicles). if you buy a Toyota used vehicle warranty, it starts from the day/mileage you bought the vehicle.

IF I would have waited I would not have been able to get mine online from Toby at Shreveport Lexus.
