1g3 is the right color, I did my front grill toyota emblem with it, and I did my BHLM with it

clean, adhesion promoter, primer, then color coat, and then clear coat

You can look for a local automotive paint shop.. i got a few shops near me that i have gotten paint codes matched in a spray can.. But they are more pricey then what you found.

Duplicolor is the way to go. Lots of guys on this forum have used it. Matches almost prefectly.

Yeah prep is everything. Pretty sure there is a step by step floating around here.

I want to do my grill surround (currently dipped black), but havent found the time.

Let us know how it goes.

I used the Dupli-Color system to color match the three chrome strips on the front of my Tundra. I started with 3 coats of primer, 3 of color, and then 5 clear. It came out really well and has held up great. I sanded the chrome to a dull finish and then applied thin coats.

Thanks! I taped off the strips on the grill but removed the single strip on the bumper. I also did the mirror covers.

I don't remember the exact grade but it was pretty fine, just enough to dull the finish.

If you paint over the chrome it will peel and chip badly later no matter how you prep. Maybe next month, maybe two years from now. But I guarantee it will eventually peel. So do as JimboAnz says but first remove the chrome plating as per the @jbrnigan thread. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/removing-chrome-plating-from-emblems.393280/
