Hey guy's I have a OR 4x4 double cab with 1500 miles and it's been running great.

I had to run out of town and needed to pull my 4'x6' open trailer. The drive was about two hours and I had no issues at all. (trailer was empty on the way down)

I got the trailer loaded up with a full size refrigerator laying on it's side and I had a dishwasher in the bed of the truck. I start the truck up and stood outside to have a smoke and when I get in to pull off I hear a beeping sound that sounds like it's coming from the back of the cab. It's three or four beeps and then stops, it will do this about every 10 min. I checked for messages and lights on the dash and nothing. I turned the back up warning off and it still did it. I turned the truck off and it still did it. The truck ran fine the two hours back but beeped every 10 min until I got home. I unhooked the trailer and went for a ride and it never beeped.

Any ideas what it could have been?

    Thanks

Does yours have the BSM (blind-spot monitors) and rear cross-traffic alert?
If you do, you'll have a BSM button above your left knee I believe and amber indicators in the glass of your side mirrors. It sounds like the monitors were picking up on your trailer being in your "blind spot".

EDIT: Actually don't take my word for it but if you have blind-spot monitors, there will be a button dedicated for it so you can toggle it off and on. I just can't recall 100% where the button is on Tacomas

I believe it's in the middle console area, like below the air controls. By the wireless charging button.

It shouldn't be beeping while your driving except for going on reverse.

Yes, I have both of those and turning them off did not help. I even went into the setting and adjusted the settings.

If it was those I would think it would have done it on the drive down aswell.

So you had a fridge and other items on a trailer, heard the beeping while pulling the trailer, then didn't hear them after disconnecting the trailer?

Methinks the fridge was beeping, does it have one of those silly battery alarms for when the power goes out?

That is correct. The fridge was not the thing beeping. Their is now way would you be able to hear it at highway speeds.

What about the dishwasher? Sound could've been coming through the equalizing vents in the back of the cab?

Well, no vehicle makes beeps at 10 minute intervals. Especially not when off. The last time I saw one of these threads the OP ended up finding that his "wife" misplaced the cordless home phone under the seat.

Have you tried towing anything else or driving it since then? All the obvious possibilities are gone.

As a side note, be sure you allow the fridge to stand upright at least as long as it was lying down, up to 24 hrs., before plugging it in.

Looking forward to you finding the beep.

Did you have something sitting in the passenger seat?

Yeah, I let it sit in place for 24 hrs.

Nope, nothing in the passenger seat. I'm going to hook up the trailer this weekend and see what it does.

    Results??? Beepless?

If yes, something in the cab battery powered beeping and now dead, no more beeps?
