Looking to do a 2.5 leveling kit with my 2002 Tacoma. Wanna try to fit some 31 BFG All terrains on it and then get some 17" method double standards.
Share your pictures of something around the 2.5 so I can get some ideas.
    Thanks

31s came stock on some 1st gens. Their gona look real small on a lifted truck.

And stay away from that lift.

Mine came with 26" on them.
    What's wrong with the lift?

Junk Country. Made in China, cheap spacer lift, inferior material. Straight up junk.

Suggest you start by quality reading time in the suspension forum, as well as searching within the 1st gen forum where you are now.

I have the Rough Country 2.5" leveling kit on my '03 DC. It was already installed when I bought it.I would advise doing some research, like others suggested, and invest in a better quality lift.

Here it is with 285/75/16s. I recently bought new tires and went with 265/75/16s, since the 285s had some rubbing on the frame.

If you drive you truck a lot and at speeds 50 mph plus with any amount of hills I'd recommend no larger than 265's but that's just my opinion. Ya 285's look cool but sucks a lot of power out of these little trucks if driving like I said above.

That's another reason I chose to go with 265s. There is a noticeable difference in performance - starting and stopping. However, it wasn't what I'd consider slow or sluggish with the 285s.

I can also now use my cruise control without it constantly dropping down a gear to maintain speed (especially if there are any hills, like you mentioned). My speedometer is not off as much as it was before, either.

My RPMs are a little higher on the highway, but my turning radius improved greatly.

I ran 305/70/16 on my old Chevy swb 4x4 and the power and breaking suffered so much I went back to 285/75/16. That's with a 350 c.i V8. Sometimes just that next size up makes a big difference.

My family vehicle (truck) has a Hemi and 420 ft lbs of torque so what I feel as sluggish on my taco might not feel sluggish to others.
